Dr. Ron Paul: 6 Reasons He Is Electable and Will Win

Posted: 01/15/12 06:34 PM ET

Contrary to the false propaganda proclaiming that Dr. Ron Paul is "not electable", his numbers are rising, his support growing and he stands an excellent chance of winning both the GOP nomination and the 2012 presidential race.

Dr. Paul's opponents are desperate to stop Americans from listening to, and subsequently electing Ron Paul. Opponents of liberty falsely present Ron Paul as "unelectable" to the American people, attempting to plant subconscious seeds doubt of "don't listen to him, don't vote for him in the primaries or caucuses because he'll never win". This strategy is failing as more Americans hear Dr. Paul speak, leading them to contribute to his campaign and vote for him. The American public understands Dr. Paul's common sense approach and trusts him. The other candidates are clearly in the race to serve their egos and personal agendas. The "Dr. Paul is not electable" rumors are deliberately created and spread solely as a calculated attempt to confuse honest, hard-working American with falsehoods such as "Ron Paul is crazy, anti-women, anti-Israel and anti-blacks. He's isolationist, he'll wreck the country, he's anti-government". These are simple "control the masses" fear tactics to try and stop Americans from actually listening to Dr. Paul, hearing his logical and intelligent plan and deciding for themselves.

Dr. Paul went from third in Iowa, to second in New Hampshire and may win South Carolina. The new video about Romney's career, King of Bain, depicts Romney as a deceptive and greedy man with Wall Street connections who made his money destroying viable companies. The film portrays as Romney unnecessarily eliminating jobs of hard-working people while getting rich himself.

Romney is the unelectable candidate, not Dr. Paul.

6. Dr. Paul not an "isolationist". He is a veteran who believes in only going to war when it has been formally declared per the U.S. Constitution. "We shouldn't have so many injured and in our hospitals because we shouldn't go to war unless it's declared. If it's declared, we should go win it and get it over with." If he were an isolationist, what reason would he be the candidate who gets the most donations from people in the military? Dr. Paul wants to withdraw from the United Nations, which would be the Constitutional thing to do. Thomas Jefferson, founding father and an author of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution stated, "Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none." Regarding Israel, Dr. Paul said "Two of the tenets of a true Zionist are 'self-determination' and 'self-reliance...We give $3 billion to Israel and $12 billion to her avowed enemies. How does that help Israel? And in return, we act like her master and demand veto power over her foreign policy." Ron Paul states, "Any kind of racism or anti-Semitism is incompatible with my philosophy." He is against foreign aid period. "I believe that federal foreign aid is absurd. We're broke!... It is ridiculous for us to be borrowing money from China and giving it to Pakistan. I have described foreign aid as taking money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries. I know that many in other nations are hurting, but I also know that the American people are a generous people. While we should end the unconstitutional federal foreign aid program, I would encourage Americans to continue to voluntarily contribute to the needs of other nations."

5. Dr. Ron Paul would run the U.S. budget like many of us responsibly handle our money at home: Spending less than we make and getting rid of dishonest or unnecessary waste.

4. Dr. Paul's plans for the country make sense.

3. Dr. Paul has the right track record, temperament and character to be President. He is mentally clear, firm and tells the truth.

2. He is the only one who makes sense in the debates. If you watch the debates, he answers questions directly and honestly. The link in this paragraph lists the upcoming debates. Many traditional Democrats might find themselves voting for Dr. Paul after watching him in a few debates.

1. Dr. Paul is the only person in the 2012 race for president who wants to serve the country. All the other candidates like the idea of the power, status, glory and success. Dr. Paul has humility and a humble approach that no other candidate has.

"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty." - Thomas Jefferson

We attended our first ever caucus today. (Incidentally, the WA legislature eliminated the GOP primaries a couple years ago ... either to "save taxpayer money," or to stymie GOP opposition to "The One." You decide.)

Anyhow, here's the short story: 29 people from our precinct registered for the caucus. The results of the Presidential Preference Tally (a.k.a., the straw poll or "beauty contest") taken when people registered at the start of the caucus were:

Romney – 13 (45%)
Paul – 11 (38%)
Gingrich – 1 (3%)
Santorum – 2 (7%)
Undecided – 2 (7%)

But 4 of them left before delegate selection began, leaving 25 people to vote in that process. Final results:

Regular Delegates:
Paul – 4 (80%)
Romney – 1 (20%)

Alternates:
1st and 2nd – Paul
3rd thru 5th – Romney

So in our precinct, although Romney won the straw poll, Paul won a clear majority of the delegates.

If this is what certain political observers mean when they allege that Ron Paul’s campaign strategy may be “thwarting the will of the voters” … well, suffice to say that, had all 29 stuck around for the entire process, the results would likely have been quite different.

So these clowns are complaining that the Paul campaign is actually educating his supporters about the GOP system and rules better than the Non-Pauls?

Wouldja like some cheese with that whine?

But Ron Paul would eliminate all of these government agencies such as the EPA that look out for the best interests of the people. Let's not forget the Gulf Oil Spill. It was private actors (aka the free market) such as local fisheries and tourist agencies that wanted to prevent drilling because of the devastation an oil spill would cause. Thankfully, the government stepped in, backed by their corporate oil allies, and allowed BP to circumvent permit-issuing safeguards and move forward. Why is it that us taxpayers throw billion dollar darts at these government agencies to "look out for us," yet Big Energy (Oil), Big Drug (Pharmacy), and Big Agriculture (Monsanto) always seem to have their way in Washington? What irony. We pay out the *** for these agencies to look out for the us, but we really just send our money to the special interest groups that control their respective regulatory agencies.

I like Dr. Ron Paul, but we’re beginning to realize a praying America still makes a difference! America has always been a Christian Nation and we’re beginning to see the proof of our united prayers making that difference, so long as we continue! People are crying out to God, asking Him to heal our land and rid ourselves of the momentum of an authoritarian government! And, low and behold, Rick Santorum surfaces! He understands the on going criminal activities in Washington! Mr. Santorum cannot be bought with the illegal gains of the special interest groups, the banking industry or a despotic congress that threatens our Constitution! He’s the one man with any moral character and integrity! We must support him with our finances and our vote or God help us all!

Biased? I have read Running on Nonsense' policies. I think they are sometime ideologically speaking fun to talk about - but totally useless for the real world. Why is that bias? Its an opinion. Laura writes a very, very bad article without a single effort to tell the reader HOW any of these policies are supposed to be realized - none.

Sometimes the man with the right ideas does not get elected. I strongly support Ron Paul mainly because he is not corruptable by lobbyists, and his economic concerns are very real. I also believe his Audit the Fed bill, HR 459 is probably the most important legislation on record. However, elections are mostly won on perception, in South Carolina we saw the following perceptions. Failure to show tax returns can cost a campaign dearly as Romney and Paul learned on Saturday. Most folks must show their tax returns when applying for a loan. That is perception.

Excellent article! It's honest as well which is something that we Ron Paul supporters do not see a lot of when it comes to articles referencing Dr. Paul. Thank you so much for this Laura Trice. You now have a new fan.

The ONLY Presidential candidate now in the race who can defeat
Obama in 2012 is Ron Paul. Period. End of story. In the current
economic environment, which in all likelihood will deteriorate even
further as we get closer to the election, Mitt Romney's record
as a "vulture capitalist" at Bain will be his undoing. The majority
of people in the US will NOT vote for someone who has made
millions of dollars putting people out of work and sending their
jobs out of the country. It just isn't going to happen. My thanks
to Ms. Trice for writing this very fair and insightful article...

Ron will be a factor in 2012 and it's really pissing off the war mongers!

If you take the time to listen to him, he's quite intelligent. I hate to say it For many reasons but id vote for him over Obama in a second. Obama v Romney is a toss up because they both suck. Clinton v Ron Paul i just dont know.
11:48 PM on 01/18/2012
He'd be the greatest President in the last 200 years if the American people weren't so damn ignorant. Even though you say the mass media lies and distortions are not going to hurt him, I disagree. I personally know many people who refuse to listen to anything except what they hear on the major news networks. These are your typically lazy, reality tv watching, Facebook obsessed, morons who refuse to do one ounce of due diligence on the candidates. If they did, any thinking person would quickly conclude that we'd be blessed as a nation to have this man of incredible integrity become our president. His ideas are not only intelligent, they are logical solutions.

There is only one person who can and will save this country from decades of corrupt, incompetent, and self serving politcians. His name is Dr. Ron Paul. Get off your lazy butts and read about his voting record during three decades in Congress. Study his views and after you do that you'll likely vote for him but if you don't at least you know you made your decision based on the facts, not mass media lies and distortions. Just consider that we need Ron Paul as President much more than he needs the job. He's running because he sees the government taking our liberties, wasting our young soldiers, and printing so many dollars that they are surely going to bankrupt this once great country. He's a true patriot and we need his help now.

There is not one person who can save us. We don't need one person. We need to pay attention and work together to repair our nation.

I could not agree with you more. Spot on! Some but not all people react only after they are directly affected and of course by then its too late. Many lives were lost for the birth and preservation of the constitution, let's make sure it is not in vain. At least give the man a chance to be heard without bias.
