The magic continued last night in the streets of Oslo as hundreds of people paraded up the main drag in front of the Grand Hotel, holding torch lights and thank you signs. The festival of lights is another Nobel tradition and it ended with Al Gore and Dr. Pachauri stepping onto the hotel balcony and waving thanks.

The only snag was I didn't know about it and my room was directly above. I heard music coming from the street and rushed to my balcony to see what was happening. When I flung open the doors I was quite surprised to be greeted by flashing bulbs and cheers, very obviously not intended for me. The crowd quickly realized their mistake but because of the very good nature of the Norwegian people I was spared the humiliation of an angry mob! I quickly stepped inside, closed the doors and wiped the sweat from my brow before it froze.
