Sweet Dreams, Chris Brown
Are the rumors true? Are Chris Brown and Rihanna back together after he so brutally assaulted her? I hope not but they are both rich, famous adults who can do what they want. All the rest of us in the Greek Chorus get to do is nit pick over the sordid details.
The Chorus is genuinely angry that Rihanna would go back to Chris, but studies show domestic violence victims find it difficult to leave their abusers. Just look at how many of us stayed in America during the Bush years. Our civil liberties took quite a beating from The Patriot Act. Oh sure we compensated by going on more vacations and moving record amounts of moolah to the Caymans, but very few pulled up permanent stakes. Me? I kept an overnight bag packed and my passport current.
The one person who really needs to be asking why Rihanna is getting back together with Chris Brown, is Chris Brown. Is it love? Maybe. But love should have kept Mr. Double Your Pleasure's hands on the wheel of his Lamborghini. So clearly, love is not enough.
Chris needs to understand something about women. I don't care how many prayers we pray, how many tears we shed, how many candles we light: Women Hold Grudges. We harbor, brood and ruminate. We do not know how to let things go. We may forgive, but we never forget.
The simple fact is, no matter how big and strong a man is, he still has to go to sleep. How soundly can he slumber next to a woman he has physically hurt and publicly humiliated? How quickly we forget the cautionary tale of John & Lorena Bobbit. Her name still sends chills down the spines of spineless men. How long can a man sleep with one eye open? Does Chris really want to be communing with Morpheus if and when Rihanna snaps?
There is no consensus in the Chorus. Some say stay, but only if they both get therapy. Some say goes and a good riddance. I am with the latter. If Rihanna is not safe, neither is Chris. If I were Rihanna, I'd keep my umbrella cocked and ready. If I were Chris Brown, I'd start getting nervous if Rihanna's new favorite flick is the Jennifer Lopez movie "Enough." But I'm just nit picking.

The young lady just turnedv 21; she too acts like a spoiled brat. they need to grow up and mature - he in prison for his crimes against her, she in Barbados with her family.

I am getting tired of people reading TMZ and going on different websites repeating the nonsense gossip they write.
Rihanna went back to Chris because she has been abusing him and she is obsessed with controlling him. Roseanne Barr got it right.
Roseanne wrote on her blog proposes "that Rihanna is part of her own problem because she is just as "violent" as Chris Brown"
Rihanna did not say "The violence has been escalating". TMZ twisted the story around to paint Chris as a monster, then a few days later the police report came out and revealed what Rihanna had really said, she had attacked him before but this was the FIRST time he had ever retaliated.
This is someones son you are crucifying without knowing exactly what happened and without allowing him to come out and defend himself. Everyone has already convicted him to years in prison so maybe you will all be happy if he gets just that and comes out and becomes an outcast and dead beat.
I would like to see him get counselling, anger management classes, therapy and ask God for forgiveness. I would like to see Rihanna get counselling, anger management classes and self-esteem classes.
I think too many people have too many hidden agendas and everyone wants to cruicify this boy to feel better about the evil things they have done in their lives.
All the more reason he's dumb for getting back with her.

If Chris was my son and Rihanna was slapping him and pushing him around I would have had a word with her.

I see Chris Brown as a kid, a kid who has yet to explain himself and be found guilty in the court of law.
You sound very vindictive, vicious, self-righteous and judgemental. And I am not trying to be offensive when I say that but what do you want us to do about Chris Brown.
Should we just crucify him, cast him out and hope he rots in jail?
OR pray that he gets the therapy he needs, maybe jail time and gets out and becomes a better person?
Torturing a kid is not going to change the rate of domestic violence, while we are on here there are thousands of women in abusive relationships who cannot leave because of financial reasons or they have no where to go.
Rihanna is rich, she has family and a successful career so she can leave at any time.
There are also men out there being abused by their wives and girlfriends too.
Lets get out there and put a stop to this disease instead of torturing a boy.

I disagree... I think definitely one fight makes you a domestic abuser. People who don't hit DON'T HIT period. People who do? They will again. And usually they come from an upbringing where they witnessed that type of violence or were hit themselves. Sadly, chances are good that she was hit before this infamous episode and none of us ever heard about it. Chances are better that he will hit her again. And until she feels strong enough to take a chance and leave, she'll put up with it no matter what anyone tells her. It's a tragically sad story and not at all humorous.
ltva, you're assuming that this is the only incident and according to the police report his behavior had been escalating over the past year. And if you beat and punch your girlfriend like that, what should you be called besides an abuser?
Swing on someone you are both bigger and stronger than, you are an abuser. That's a generic observation. Swing on someone you are supposed to be in love with, someone who is not a big or as strong as you and you are a petty thug. What was the bite about? This is not two 3rd graders beefing over a toy. It is about two almost adults engaging in public stupidity. And the public is stupid enough to emulate if only for the publicity.
He will have his day in court. IMO, he ought to wind up in jail. He'll have plenty of opportunity to hone his fighting skills. Then there's the post incarceration comeback and sales for extra artistic considerations. She gets the sympathy sales. Sounds like a win-win to me.
