Body magnesium levels are rarely tested by any MD. Blood tests are mostly useless. The only test I consider useful is an intracellular tissue analysis. For information, Google: exatest.

Calcium competes with magnesium, so I would avoid any supplement where the ratio of calcium to magnesium is greater than 2. In my opinion, taking a calcium supplement without magnesium is a very bad idea, since magnesium improves calcium absorption. See:
