Vitamin C is an effective way to energize our body immediately. Vitamin C has been known to boost our immune system, to energize our body and uplift mood. It is an important component for growth and repairing of tissues in all parts of the body. It helps the body to make collagen, and is popular for healing wounds, preparing and maintaining bones and teeth, for treating and preventing cancer, colds, and other immune related illnesses.

These 4 Foods Contain High Amounts of Vitamin C:

Lemons
Did you know lemons are high in Vitamin C? This is often overlooked. There is 30.7 mg of Vitamin C in one lemon.

One way we can get the benefits of lemons in our food is by squeezing a lemon into 2 cups of water and drinking a Lemon Water. This is a great way to start each day with a dose of Vitamin C that also alkalizes our body.

You can also squeeze lemon on salads with some olive oil and Real Salt for a natural salad dressing that contains Vitamin C.

To include lemons in your deserts, squeeze some lemon juice into a blender with soaked cashews, made syrup, vanilla, Real Salt and coconut oil to make Cashew Cheesecakes or Cashew Ice Creams.

Potatoes
One potato contains 42 mg of Vitamin C. This is often unexpected when we think about potatoes. It's no wonder we crave potatoes when we are stressed or run down.

When we need a quick potato fix, we can grate a potato into a hot pan of coconut oil and fry for 7 minutes for Hash Browns. Or bake or fry them in extra virgin coconut oil or TigerNut oil for a healthier alternative to fries. This way we still consume the Vitamin C that potatoes provide to us.

Kale
Kale contains 80mg of Vitamin C per one cup. One way to consume more kale is to add it to your juice machine or blender and drink it. That way you can disguise the bitter taste with some fruits. I also massage avocado into the kale and add some garlic powder, Real Salt, nutritional yeast and pumpkin seeds and make a tasty Superfood Kale Salad.

Consuming raw lemon is the best way to get a higher dose of Vitamin C.

Strawberries
Strawberries contain: 42 mg of Vitamin C per 1/2 cup. To make a delicious juice or smoothie that is high in Vitamin C mix 1/2 cup strawberries, a peeled orange, grapefruit and lemon. It's also what I call the "Fat Blaster".

These are all recipes are copyrighted in my new book "10-Minute Recipes", published by Hay House.

According the to the U.S. Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine for men more than 18 years old is 90 milligrams of vitamin C daily; for women more than 18 years old, it is 75 milligrams daily; for pregnant women more than 18 years old, it is 85 milligrams daily; and for breastfeeding more than 18 years old, it is 120 milligrams daily.

By incorporating into your diet each day 1/2 cup strawberries, 1 orange, 1 lemon and 1 potato you can well achieve this required Vitamin C intake.
