Okay, okay, "no white pants after Labor Day" is most definitely a silly--and dated--"rule."

But in the spirit of Memorial Day--and as a way to cope with the end of a long weekend--why not get in the spirit of the season? It's a fine time to sport those white pants and drink all the white cocktails you grasp in your sweaty, summer palms. 'Tis the season for frothy fizzes and looking like a badass while drinking them. (Only badasses wear white pants, right?)

This classic New Orleans brunch cocktail is a must year-round, but it’s also the perfect recipe to kick off post–Memorial Day drinking. It comprises gin, citrus, heavy cream and a touch of orange flower water—with egg white for froth. Top with a little soda water and you’ll be in white-cocktail heaven.Get the recipe for the Ramos Gin Fizz.
If the Ramos Gin Fizz is a bit ingredient-heavy for you, try this four-element alabaster cocktail instead. While it still requires a fair amount of shaking to incorporate the egg white, this lemony sour requires less elbow grease. You wouldn’t want to work too hard over the summer. For an agave-forward spin on the White Lady, swap the gin for tequila in the White Dragon.Get the recipe for the White Lady.
Folks in New Orleans have their pearly cocktailing game on point. Another Crescent City favorite, the Brandy Milk Punch incorporates, yes, both brandy and milk, as well as powdered sugar, vanilla extract and freshly grated nutmeg.Get the recipe for Timmy’s Brandy Milk Punch.
You caught us: This fizz does indeed have fuchsia undertones from its combination of cherry juice and maraschino liqueur. No need to punish this stellar drink because of its skin tone. The frothy twist on The Last Word combines fruity and herbal elements, like the aforementioned cherry and Green Chartreuse for a lively, summertime cocktail.Get the recipe for The Last Word Fizz.
No summer cocktail menu would be complete without a blended drink—and particularly not without the Piña Colada. A sip will transport you to the tropics, as this combination of rum, pineapple and coconut tends to do. Even those who shy away from the blender will want to enjoy one of these in the blistering heat of dead summer.Get the recipe for the Piña Colada.
