Carrie Prejean on Fox & Friends: The 15 Minutes are Up

Gods help me, Carrie Prejean is a simple as a stick. And she's a catty piece of work, too, full of self congratulatory airs saying how sometimes it's better to come in second place. She spent the longest hour of my life on Fox & Friends this morning, and I sat through it so you wouldn't have to, though if you want to feel my pain, we do have a few minutes of her fifteen of fame here on video... Oh watch it -- it's way more fun than using a Pedi-egg, though less productive.

2009-05-27-CarriePrejean.jpg

Along with trying to talk and breath at the same time, Carrie managed to hold a conversation with with Steve Doody and The Other Guy, which was like watching my betas float in their bowls. Only the fish are prettier. And, like, smarter. However, Carrie did say that it's great that the 18,000 couples already married before Prop 8 can stay married. But Carrie, you think marriage should only be opposite, so this makes no sense at all, unless she's gradually having a change of heart. Or is confused. Most likely the latter, since "that's great" is a standard response.

So Carrie, TweedleDumb and TweedleDumber went on about how an anchor on that other news show (Soledad O'Brien) wanted to get a dog removed from a co-op apartment building because he's big and smelly. The dog was a guest. The dog was livelier than Carrie and drooled less than the male anchors. It would not have been worth mentioning as a news story if CNN wasn't involved. Of course, you can argue that this story isn't worth writing about even with Carrie involved, but please play along!

You can read more and watch the video here

Based on her appearance today, no way could she get a gig as a news person, even in the dinkiest local news market. I look forward to her going away very quickly.

So they fire Prejean for her not doing her Miss California duties. Thats fine...maybe she wasnt.

The real question is why does anyone care about this in the first place? Its simple. She gave a not so politically correct answer to Perez Hilton's question about gay marriage.

If she had given a more politically correct answer (i.e. lied) then none of us would have heard of Carrie Prejean. Instead we have spent a couple months on this issue.

Why are liberals so for freedom of speech and expression until someone says something you dont agree with? Why are you so apt to criticize conservatives but the second someone criticizes Obama they are part of the party of "NO", mean spirited ,a disloyal American, etc

In other words, why are you so full of double standards when it comes to this issue?

As long as her "twins" are visible, the media will use her for ratings, unfortunately.
04:52 AM on 05/30/2009
First she says she's against gay marriage, then she expresses support for those that took place before Prop 8 passed. Recently she gushed about Adam Lambert (long assumed, now openly, gay) being her favorite on American Idol (she thinks he should have won).
Try making sense of any of this double-talk. My money says she's confused. Oh, and obviously very much a Republican. It's a given.

Unfortunately, she'll probably be in our faces as 'newsworthy' for at least a year. At minimum.

For examples of how this may happen look at any news or entertainment source and search for the name 'Palin' or 'Jon & Kate' or 'octomom'. Octomom is not as visible as she once was, but she is still there. Maybe she's in the 'periphery' stage of her fame.

I almost forgot Paris Hilton, who deserved some spotlight while she had a show, but before that was in the spotlight for no reason.

Are you kidding??? Since when has Faux News cared about whether their talking Barbies can actually talk? And, if all else fails, she has a GREAT potential career in porn.

Lisa , she probably would have ,,, But for the likes of you and the others who use a perverse sexism to excoriate any women who stray from the liberal feminist agenda..... Liberalism basically destroyed real "feminism"

Laughable. I'm curious, are you female?

Of course not. TroIIs just take whatever is available and throw it back at the other side. They have no idea what they are actually saying, only that they must improvise their arsenal because they have no actual facts.

I loved the coven thing! Yes, that's been my problem with Gretchen Carlson (and Betty Nguyen's "Faces of Faith" - does she still do that?) for a while. I loved their outrage at Christian Children's Fund dropping the 'Christian'. As Colbert said, oh no, how will we know which children are Christian?! We all know FOX's enduring commitment to religious freedom -- as long as it's Christianity!

Perhaps I'm wrong, but maybe this woman was raised to be vacuous and beautiful. Even an ordinary person (like me) could eventually understand nuclear physics if they were taught long enough by the right coaches.

But if a pretty girl were trained to be "beautiful" and give generic, fluffy responses to questions, don't you think she'd slide right through life just fine? Add a beauty crown and we're talking about a nice home and lovely children, with a wealthy ex-husband supplying the means. Come on, are you really angry at me for saying this? How about the people who raised young Carrie to "look pretty, child, and smile!"?

I shared a study group in high school geometry with an odd crowd. There was me, owl-faced & studious; a bluff, aggressive (but decent) redneck; two girls who were my friends, and a beauty queen who looked like Sandra Bullock [whom I adore]. We all took our driving tests at the same time. We passed. I got a 73, the beauty queen got a 98. And she was a ditz. Not stupid at all, but just as klutzy as the rest of us teens.

Are all of us, here, posting, ready for a national stage? How many of us could go on a national news show tomorrow and impress the world?

I'm not defending Carrie. We have cultural blind spots that lead us to prejudge people by their looks.

Fair enough. I really think it was nailed in the article - she's just simple. There's no malice in it for her. I have relatives who are much the same way. Good family people, but they really have never given much thought to issues, or voted (thank goodness).

If you're going to mock somebody as being dumb, you ought
to spell "breathe" correctly and fix the other writing errors in your post.
04:15 PM on 05/28/2009
It's a bit rich calling someone an empty head (which I agree) when this article is full of errors.

1. It's Steve Doocy not 'Doody'
2. It's a 'Ped-Egg' not 'Pedi-Egg'

..and maybe researching the name of the other host (Brian Kilmeade) would be helpful too, or do they just let anyone with a computer publish articles on HuffPo now?
04:30 PM on 05/28/2009
This is in the blog section. So, yes, anyone including you can do it. I think the Steve Doody was a joke. Not sure about the ped-egg thing but hey, i don't know everything. And I hear all sorts of people refer to him as "Steve Doocy and the other guy" all the time. It's also a joke. Maybe you should accept that you don't have this writer's sense of humor and move on.

Someone's not in on the joke. But the "talk and breath [sic]" did seem to be an error to me, unless I don't get that one.

Regardless of how ignorant she may be, I'm sure she'd be welcome on The View along side Sherri Shephard who not only doesn't know that the world is round but also believes that Jesus pre-dated Greeks and Romans.

"I look forward to her going away very quickly."

Not so fast. Let's recall past and current ladies of dubious intelligence:

1. anne coulter
2. sarah palin
3. laura ingraham
4. michelle bachmann
5. michelle malkin

If they can remember their lines, and don't break the lens of a camera, they have a future in the movement.

Oh that was painful to look at blaqntelligence. Seeing them all grouped together like that. And yet I can't look away - it's oddly fascinating. Our country is being over run by unintelligent people who like to have their picture taken. And insist on talking. And they're breeding too. They're making more.

What's going to happen to us? What will we do?? I'm going to stock up on batteries and bottled water.

"Our country is being over run by unintelligent people who like to have their picture taken. And insist on talking. And they're breeding too. They're making more."

Your fear is understandable considering the past 8 years of frat house mentality combined with an evil only portrayed in movies.

They insist on talking.....and we're talking louder.
They breed....only to breed offspring who reject their backwards way of thinking.
They may be making more, but November 4, 2009 proved there are more of us than there are of them.
