Orphaned and alone, two unlikely pals brought each other friendship in a time of need.

On March 20, Chip, a 5-week-old Chihuahua puppy, and Adele, a 4-week-old kitten, were both brought into Operation Kindness, a no-kill animal shelter in Texas, just north of Dallas. Because they arrived on the same day, the shelter's staff decided to pair the babies together.

These two are the best of friends! As you can see from the funny animal video below, the cat and dog pals are ridiculously adorable, even cuddling together to take a nap. Adele thinks Chip's back is really comfy, as they both try to desperately fight off sleep.

Every pet deserves a home. According to The Humane Society, animal shelters care for 6-8 million homeless dogs and cats every year in the United States. Approximately 3-4 million of those animals are euthanized before they can find a loving home.

After Chip and Adele got all of their shots and were old enough to be spayed and neutered, they were adopted into their forever home together. The shelter made sure their family adopted Chip and Adele out together so that they can grow up together and remain best friends.

Let's help these babies find their forever home! Please SHARE this story with everyone you know.
