Bachmann Turned Overdrive

It was a proud night for Minnesotans.

Front and center in the limelight at the State of the Union, there she was, freshman congressgirl, Queen of the God Squad, Michelle Bachmann, armed with her autograph books, squealing and pawing at President Bush like a rabid schoolgirl at a rock show.

But this rock show was The State of the Union, and for analogies sake, let's refer to it as Blahblahpalooza.

Granted it was her first time at "Blahblahpalooza" but please.

It wasn't a handshake, it wasn't a hug of thanks, it was thirty seconds of, "love me, see me, pay attention to me!"

Her behavior could be compared to a hormonally erratic tween grasping at Clay Aiken on the Today Show promenade.

But that would be insulting to the tweens of the world.

But as they say, "When the Comedy Gods close a door, they open a window."

Good-bye Katherine Harris, Hello Michelle Bachmann.

This is gonna be fun.
