Working Americans Love Sarah Palin Because She Shoots Wolves from Airplanes
A scrivener at the National Review on why they like Sarah Palin instead of smug elites:
"So along comes someone who really is from the working class. She likes it--and finds snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and living in small-town America not as a wasteful use of carbon-emitting fuels, cruelty to animals, gratuitous depletion of our resources, or proof of parochial yokelism. Instead it is a life of action in an often harsh natural landscape, where physical strength is married to intelligence to bring us food, fuel, and progress."
Well call me a smug elitist, but snowmobiling and ATVing are wasteful uses of carbon-emitting fuels, (you wouldn't know it from this election but there is a CO2 problem in the world) that tear up the landscape and disrupt wildlife. As they write in Thrillcraft, "there is no nice way to describe the true dangers thrillcraft pose to the integrity of our public lands: they terrorize wildlife and other people;destroy the quiet and peace of the woods; and pollute, degrade, and vandalize much of our natural legacy." The National Park Service tried to ban snowmobiles from Yellowstone National Park, (George Bush overturned it) noting issues of
"air quality, visibility, soundscapes, health and safety, impacts on wildlife and visitor experience. Their study found that in virtually all areas, snowmobile use damages the park. The agency says that visibility will be impaired around Old Faithful, visitors will hear more noise, and "employees and visitors who are susceptible to respiratory problems would likely be affected." Science implicates human health, of both visitors and park employees, in another way: snowmobile use spreads poisons, benzene and carbon monoxide among them, through both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks."
-But hey, it's a life of action, right?

While I have personally never hunted I know many people who do, and they are appalled by the idea of hunting wolves from aircraft. It is of questionable legality; in 1972 it was made illegal by the Airborne Hunting Act, passed after a nationwide outcry against aerial hunting of wolves in Alaska. However a loophole in the act allows it for the purposes of "control." According to Defenders of Wildlife, it is promoted by
"the state's small but politically influential commercial hunting interests. Their clear intention is to eliminate as many of nature's major predators as possible to artificially increase moose and caribou numbers where it'll then be easier for urban and wealthy out-of-state hunters to shoot their trophy animals."
-ah, life in a harsh natural landscape.
There are lots of people living in small towns who manage to enjoy themselves without "gratuitous depletion of our resources" and who bring us food, fuel and progress without spending their spare time shooting from airplanes and bombing around on snowmobiles. They do it without running their toys on gasoline that could have been used to reduce our reliance on imported oil. They might even question why we "drill, baby drill" just to "live a life of action." They don't look like smug elitists to me.

Snowmobiles and ATVs terrorize people? What kind of emotionally stunted people did they dig up to make that claim? Using an ATV in yellowstone will affect visitors health? How bad does someone's asthma have to be to be choked out by a passing ATV while they are standing in a forest? I guess the sheer terror they feel could contribute. The only gas station in Yellowstone has already been closed down. This isn't concern for people it's about control. Far left tree huggers who want to eliminate all cars do everything they can to impose and restrict people's access to these parks.
As far as killing wolves far away from where the people live and in remote areas, who cares? It's in a remote area that people already don't go to. If the wolves are alive or dead it doesn't change anyone's life and it's an animal they never would have seen anyway. Also thinning the wolf population increases the moose population. People pay to come to Alaska to hunt the moose and not be eaten by the wolf pack while they hunt. If there are fewer moose available because wolf control was reduced that could lead to less tourism and put people out of work. Why should animals rate higher than people?
Sad to say, but the truth it is a very White American past time to kill living beings who cannot defend themselves. Whites used to do it to Native Americans and African Americans well into the 20th century. After that became uncool, they moved on to Filipinos, Haitians, Latin Americans, Koreans, Vietnamese, Panamanians, etc. All this hoo haa about "working Americans" or "blue collar Americans" is bullshit. Those who glory in this wanton bloodlust and use it to play "culture wars" are the same sorts who went to lynchings for a picnic.
I am so tired of the racist comments about "white people". The hate being expressed is astounding . Did you know it was the republicans who initiated and fought to end slavery? Not the democrats. Democrats were furious. They fought to keep slavery. These republican "white men were the saving grace and friend to all african americans then and now. As a former democrat myself, I changed to Independent. I will vote for the best person not along party lines. That's good for me not for everyone.Rich and poor crosses all races. Why is it so many think white people are so bad? It is appaulling to me. Racist folks think by exhibiting hate for another race some how makes things better for America? God loves us all and we are equal. Stop the continuation of hate. That's a good start.
Tolerance for differentce of opinion is not something most democrats today can swallow. It's either their way or your the worst being on earth. It is so sad to see vicious personal attacks on all canditidates and their family. This is so distructive and constructive. Can't you talk about issues instead of spreading hate? People should not throw rocks at glass houses. Everyone has their own story. Respect them.
Keep these posts comin'! The more noise the anti-gun, anti-hunting, anti-SUV, anti-ATV, anti-snowmobile, anti-gasoline engine of any kind, anti-meat, and anti-drilling crowd makes, the more likely we'll see BO storming into a rural, small townhall demanding to know "where can I get me a hunting license" a la John Kerry in 2004. Too funny.
I think BO should make a big deal out of this. Having video of him standing side by side with screeching PETA folks is just what the doctor ordered. Go ahead BO, make my day.
I love these kinds of videos. Always gotta have the cute cubs and fluffy, clean looking predators. You'll notice how they never show them tearing apart a caribou and eating it alive. The best of all is the somber music and narration. It's even better when a tree hugger starts blubbering. Now that's entertainment.

It seems the values from people of small towns in Alaska are different from big towns everywhere in the USA. McCain chose this Palin to be his VP just based on the title "the most popular governor" with "executive experience" to mock Obama's experience without vetting details of her records which turned out very much different from the point of views of the population at large. "Conservative family values" with pregnant teen daughter? The most rampant drug use city? Forcing mothers to keep her rapist' s baby for the rest of her life? Teaching creationism in school? Killing wild lives for sports? Drill, baby, drill in wilderness refuge areas? ... Don't we have choice to decide our own life without the government "one-size-fit-all" patronizing attitude?
Vote for issues, not beauty nor lies: AFFORDABLE HEALTH INSURANCE, WOMEN'S CHOICE, VETS BENEFITS, EQUAL PAY.
That you cannot understand why the working class will overwhelmingly support Sarah Palin is symptomatic of the greater issues with liberal ideology in general: Liberals are unable to comprehend or empathize with the common man.
The reason the blue collar vote is so heavily swayed by Palin should be obvious: She is one of them made good. She has a real story, an American story. She's the girl next door. Obama is just an empty suit, a foreign empty suit with an empty resume. Obama never even SAW mainstream America until he moved to Chicago. Biden and especially McCain, are children of privilege. Palin is one of the "people".
Let Liberals continue bad mouthing the 'yahoo vote' and trying to smear Palin. Watch what happens to Obama-Biden in Nobvember. Do these things hard and long enough and watch control of the House pass to the Republicans in November.
The whole reason that licensed hunting is legitimate is to control the deer/moose population due to the absence of natural predators so that deer/moose don't overpopulate and die from starvation. Hunting the predators so that you can hunt more deer/moose is simply counterproductive.
"A Sand County Almanac" needs to be required reading for more people (thanks Mr. Goodspeed, my high school bio teacher).
Watching this video made me sick . . . and it made me cry. I grew up around hunters and they would agree, this is NOT sport. It is a high-ticket adrenaline rush.

Why aren't people being harder on her in the mainstream media! I am talking about the Democrats! The only person I have seen really bring up Palins nutty beliefs was Barbara Boxer on CNN today. She really did it, went over line by line all of the lies that Palin told in her speech. The democrats are being FAR too timid! I think Hilary holding back is also ridiculous. Just because Palin is a woman? I think the Dems need to get more aggressive about bringing up Palin's hobbies like this one and how damn extreme her views are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as Hillary goes, do you think she really want's BO to win this election? She's not going to help him much, she'll make it look like she is. If BO wins she can kiss her presidential aspirations goodbye! If McCain wins ol Hill can run again in 4 yrs. I think she and Bill will vote for Jon McCain come November. So, don't count on Hill to give BO much sipport. Don't think Hillarys supporters haven't figured this one out either, they say they will fall in line for BO, but don't count on it!
