Palin's Connection to Alaska Independence Party Raises Concern

The country's next president, or even vice president, should fully support a united country. Advocating for an independent Alaska or any other state should disqualify a candidate for the top job.

How can someone like Sarah Palin, who could possibly be in line to become President of the United States, have once been a member of a group that advocates secession from the United States? Is it even legal for her to be on the ticket?

As President, you are supposed to pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, not the flag of Alaska.

People jumped all over Sen. Barack Obama for not wearing a flag pin, and questioned his patriotism. What about a potential president who was once a member of a group that wants to vote on removing itself from the United States, with some members openly taking the position that the United States is an illegal occupier?

If she subscribes to the group's motto "Alaska First," what does that mean as far as domestic policy decisions that would come out of a Palin administration?
