"Our stay at London's 45 Park Lane followed a heavenly two-nights at The Dorchester which is literally across the street. What makes this combination a discovery of whats old is new again, is the gamble for the Dorchester's illustrious and prestigious properties.. to attract younger travelers who want the sophistication, taste and luxury, but not the attitude of their parents generation." Now I get it! The Dorchester in London and Coworth Park in Ascot and 45 Park Lane represents a remarkable trio; like the three tenors, Carreras, Domingo and Pavarotti, visited together, these stellar properties are a once in a lifetime experience. Bravo!! Bellissima!

Upon our arrival we were literally whisked, Rimowa luggage and all, up to our suite but were told that a fabulous art opening was taking place in the lobby. In this case we flew the Penthouse, hit the 45 bar.... and wow! You will not find any dainty tea sandwiches and clotted cream here. Not at that hour. Just a crowd of exceedingly bright, beautiful and may I mention younger people...who obviously have the right ideas, the best taste when it come to where to meet at the desired cocktail hour. Which can last all night.

Here is what 24 hours in the Presidential Penthouse Suite looks like. You are given a key that only enables the elevator to reach the Penthouse. It is solid gold or some such fancy metal and weighs more than your cell phone. You enter the suite with the assistance of a YOUNG general manager who summarizes the space with words you are familiar with. Like technology. "Yes! We get it. No need to send the technician...we should be able to connect to the internet sometime soon." I have discovered that dead cell phones are worse than constipation!

The wet bar in our suite provided more culturally accepted chocolate coated cravings and it also houses, under a separate lock and key, some of the oldest, finest whiskey, scotch, and vodka on the planet. But for the connoisseurs of the rarest, perhaps the finest cognac... you can walk directly across the street, back to the refinement of The Dorchester and be tempted to sit cross-legged while indulging in Louis XIII flights.

For me, I was happy with a cup of chamomile tea. I just slipped into something more casual, a pair of Beautiful Bottoms, a London designers dream pajama set in my favorite color.... cobalt blue. Of course who could even try to rival the beauty of Vivien Leigh... not me! But it was tempting to pose while reclining on the masterfully designed King sized bed while star gazing . "What galaxy are we in?" I asked calmly.

And when you book yourself into the
Penthouse Suite
you will be handed the keys to a brand new
for the afternoon, the latest model carrying the illustrious British RR badge.

Our suite covered the entire ninth floor of the hotel. If we could have brought Journey, our beloved adopted Labrador, he would have adored the terrace runway and I, not having to awaken too early to let him smell the fresh morning dew. I am certain that the concierge would have provided a footman and a butler for Journey. The Beverly Hills Hotel certainly did!

Stay Calm and only bring one Carry On. The suite has everything you need. The British have it nailed. It's refined, may not be exactly your kind of taste, but if you and the misses are buffalo winged out on ranch dressing and you feel like splurging a bit... why not stay here.

The Wraith Experience is available from November 1, with the Penthouse Suite starting from just over £7,000 (about $11,000) a night, including breakfast.

And in case you're wondering where the Chuda's are going next. Let me just say.. its better than a ticket to Mars..much better than an Upper Class Virgin flight to London. It's sinking, smells foul, but heaven knows its one of the most beautiful places on earth. Venezia. Get ready for the gondola, the pasta and Francesca Bortolotto Possati's newest Bauer... The Palladio Spa Hotel. I can't wait!
