In a television commercial released today designed to improve voter's perception of him as a kindly bipartisan and to immunize himself from attacks by Democrats during the culminating night of the Democratic Convention, John McCain looked directly at the camera and promised Barack Obama that he would not engage in negative attacks until tomorrow:
But breaking his promise mere hours after he made it, McCain issued the following, vehemently negative and labor-intensive press release, which arrived on political reporters' Blackberries while the celebratory fireworks were still bursting over the Obama family's heads at Invesco field in Denver:

WAKE UP AMERICA
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
4 MONTHS IS ALL THE TIME THEY CAN HAVE
It's time SOMEONE yelled about what's been going on with the government of "let them eat cake" aristocrats.I agree totally.
The GOP didn't care about Obama's speech except for things they could use to attack him with. Always attacking means they have nothing to present to the voters, Rove's style. This time it won't work.
what a long and thorough press release...man his aides are quick
or
it was written before he even gave the speech, possibly augmented wihle the speech was deliverd, and what Obama had to say never mattered to the GOP at all.
Flip Flops? Check out these. 72 as of this article so far.

People need to wake up or God Help Us All. Thanks for the video link. I'm sending it to everyone I know. This election is too important...our very lives are at stake. McSame is a dangerous man.
What is so sad is that we, the DNC and Obama have to do the MSM's job for them. They should be publicizing every gaff George Mc'Cain makes (they do that with O'bamb). They need to publicize every flip flop George Mc'Cain does on issues (they do that with O'bamba). Once the public knows the real George Mc'Cain, and realizes he is nowhere a maverick or a moderate, .his goose will be cooked.
Whenever the going gets tough, the typical liberal plays the well worn card of logic, facts and truth.
How very sad and unfair when dealing with the Republican Party!
I know. It's so hard trying to get one over on those damn liberals. All they have is truth on their side.
Disagree.
They also have logic and facts.
There is a famous saying that no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American consumer.
A similar statement could be made about the American voter.
Racism, jingoist slogans, and bald faced lies have a distinguished record of success in electing candidates in our country.
You must understand that McCain doesn't always speak for the McCain campaign.
Checking in my dictionary, it seems the behavior ascribed to one of the candidate's campaigns falls under the definition of hypocrisy. Say one thing do another.
After seeing Sarah P'alin has his VP pick, I don't think he is speaking at all for his campaign these days. My god, he stood there looking at her like "who the hell is she"?
Publically: "I, John McCain, will personally not launch any negative ads against my opponent."
Afterwards - Privately: "OK, 527s, right wing talk show hosts, FOX News, and surrogates; go get em!!!!
For somone who hasn't told us what he intends to do for America, McCain is really good at blasting Obama for telling us what he will do if he is elected as the President. Maybe McCain should lay out his plan for America to us first before bashing someone else's plans. Not a good idea when you yourself don't even have a plan. There must be a lot of very unintelligent people in the McCain Camp for drawing this document up, and then publishing it and getting thier candidate to endorse it. Imagine how much time they must have taken to draw up this documents. They hado to go line by line through Obama's well written, well presented speech. Right now Obama is my choice, because I know what he wants to do for me. I have no idea what McCain wants to do for me. All I know is that McCain has a lot of adverts out there, bashing Obama and none of them promoting McCain or telling me what he is about, besides the fact that he is John McCain and he has approved all those ads.
I completely agree. I am an enthusiastic Obama supporter, however, I would like a more intelligent, and issue based dialogue to be happening between the two camps. As a man that i have admired since high school, reading his books from cover to cover, I believe that Senator McCain has let me, and others who have respected and been inspired by his great service, down. His answers to tough questions have proven shallow, and his constant use of the POW card is pathetic and borderline offensive to the men and woman who fought and are fighting for this country and her safety. He is ultimately digging a ditch for himself and may find the tables turned where America realizes they actually know far more about where "liberal" (when did that become such a bad word?) Obama stands, than where the constantly flip-flopping (I believe that became a very bad word in 2004) McCain stands on anything. The simple fact that McCain was chosen out of the pack to lead the party is a tell-tale sign of party desperately in need of direction. For their sake, I hope they find it.
Mc Kain can't win on issues. Pure and simple. He's a pandering flip flopper. He abandoned all of his issues stances in exchange for pandering to specific Repubic constituancies.
I just heard , dont know if its true, but heard if you make over 100.000 you dont pay into social security. You receive it but dont have to pay for it.. Good grief, if true, the little guy has been conned right and left..I loved it when Obama told MCCain to dignify his campaign.....Went right over MCCains head..
There is a payroll tax for social security. Your income up to a certain amount is taxed - something less than 100K
That is not true. The social security tax ceiling for 2008 is $102,000 but that ceiling is when you stop paying social security tax, you paid the same 7.5% everyone else did from $1-$101,999. Don't get me wrong, I think their should be no ceiling but people making > $102,000 pay the same as the rest of us up to $102,000, they just don't pay any more.
Actually they pay social security on income up to about 98K. Above that amount there they do not pay into social security. Employees pay 6.2% into SS and the employer pays in the same amount. If you are self employed you pay both amounts or 12.4%. Why there is the limit to the amount I don't know.
Social security TAX to go to IRS, not "into SS".
I really don't get it. In the time it took you to post this, you could have used Google to ask the question, and to find out that your outrage was misplaced. THere are zillion people complaining that "they don't know what Obama's policies are", or who heard that he' Muslim and are wondering whether it's true, and are outraged if it is. But they don't use the tools at their fingertips to FIND OUT. It's 2008. Willful ignorance of this kind is just inexcusable. It's bad enugh if it doesn't go any farther than one person, but these same people will use the same tools to spread their ignorance. How many of your friends did you email, telling them that "rich" people don't pay into social security? Republicans look at people like you and rub their hands together...they see someone who will belive anything, no matter how idiotic, and not spend 30 seconds to find out if it's true.
I just don't get it.
McCain hasn't learned to use the Google yet...
You pay into social security until you hit $90,000 and then they stop taking the tax out of your paycheck. That is one of the things that O'bama wants to do, remove that cap.
Only seven misleading claims after how 18 months or more of research? This is the best they could find? Wow, I would like to thank the Republican party. This makes me feel even better about Barack. If this is all they have and the rest of their campaign is school yard style mockery of his popularity I think Barack will absolutely be the next POTUS!!! YES!!!! And Biden too Woooohaaaaaa!!!!
