President Obama announced this week that his administration will take executive action "to reduce gun violence," by:

1. Keeping guns out of the wrong hands through background checks.
2. Making communities safer from gun violence.
3. Increasing mental health treatment and reporting to the background check system.
4. Shaping the future of gun safety technology.

The President will discuss the plan in a televised live town hall meeting on Thursday night, hosted by CNN's Anderson Cooper: "Guns in America."
