Dear God,
Please take away the swine flu.
Amen
According to Martin Luther King, Jr. there is a power in us more powerful than the power of bullets.
King knew that that power was the power of the Spirit. Call it a religious power, a spiritual power, the power of consciousness or whatever - it has to do with the power of the mind, joined with the power of a Divine Creator.
So don't be fooled when it comes to this conversation about the swine flu. This flu wasn't created on the level of the body, because no disease is. It was created on the level of the mind, and it is there that we will root it out at the causal level.
For weeks, millions of people have been convinced by the media -- based on endless reports about the drug cartels -- that "Mexico is a dangerous place." It is a basic truism of spiritual philosophy that, as it is written in A Course in Miracles, "all thought creates form on some level." You get enough people agreeing in consciousness that Mexico is a dangerous place, and that dangerous thought will make it so.
So does that mean the media shouldn't have reported about the drug cartels? Absolutely not. But it does bear noting that today's media seems to have abdicated any sense of perspective, grabbing always for the most sensationalized, fear-producing angle of any story. And we should try to filter the fear thoughts than can get into our minds as assiduously as we try to filter the germs that can get into our bodies.
If you get this - if you're already grounded in faith (or at least have read "The Secret") - then take an active part in transforming this thing. The Western allopathic medical community is doing everything it can to treat the disease on the external planes, and of course we're grateful for that. But each and every one of us have work to do on the internal planes, to transform the disease on the level of cause as well as ameliorate whatever effects it has already produced.
l) Pray it away. Just pray it away, asking God as you understand Him, the Divine Physician, Jesus or whatever other form of divine imagery works for you. Simply ask that it be removed from our midst.
2) Send love to Mexico. Between what's actually been happening there with the drug wars, plus all the "Mexico is dangerous" thoughts we've loaded onto it over the last several weeks, it needs a major dose of love - the most powerful medicine of all - to dissolve the fear thoughts that have produced this flu.
Do your part. This thing can be turned around right now, and sent back to the nothingness from whence it came. Each of us needs to stop pretending we're powerless, use the power in our hearts and work the miracles we're entitled to. Prayer is the medium of miracles; in whatever way works for you, pray right now.

What you have said is what you believe and therefore what you see. Consider this. If one fears rejection this is what they usually see. If one sees themselves as a victim they usually are a victim. What causes disease is dis--ease.
Consider this as a possibility. Form (body, universe) is the end result of mind. Mind is the cause--the body, universe is the effect. We have forgotten who we are so we think this is all happening to us (victim) As long as we see ourselves as vitcims we have no choice. When we start considering our mind/minds as the maker then we can choose. When we start waking up we begin to understand that we are but doing this to ourselves.
You would be amazed at what thought can do. Collective dis-ease can and does make worse things than viral capsids.
Knowing the truth does not mean one does not do proactive things. Nor does doing proactive things mean that one cannot execise prayer(thought) in a constructive fashion. Prayer is just thought, and we all pray all the time. Sad to say, most of live in fear most of the time and so what we pray for is fearful. So what we get is fearful stuff. Like swine flu.
"What causes disease is dis--ease."
... No. What causes disease is viruses and bacteria. I've never heard such ridiculous nonsense in my life.
This is not helpful. We know what causes disease, and we know where it came from (hint: your thoughts do not manufacture viral capsids). Telling people to pray rather than being pro-active with something that will actually help (washing your hands, covering your mouth when you cough) is at best useless and at worst horribly counter productive.
Healing requires a shift in perception. What is the single requisite for this shift in perception? It is simply this; the recognition that sickness is of the mind, and has nothing to do with the body. What does this recognition "cost"? It cost the world you see, for the world will never again appear to rule the mind.
It seems as if the world determines what you perceive. Your thoughts determine the world you see.
You see what you beleive is there, and you beleive it is there because you want it there.
Hm. So the people who were captured and executed during WWII saw the enemy coming for them because they WANTED to see the enemy?
Similarly, those who had their homes bombed during that war WANTED to see the enemy planes and their payloads?
"It is simply this; the recognition that sickness is of the mind, and has nothing to do with the body."
Right, so viruses are just pretend.
Grow up.
Did we will Mexico to have that earthquake yesterday, too?
What other events are caused by these thought experiments?
Dear god is not the answer, unless you believe you are god.
Thanks for the laugh against religion.
And please, if you feel the need to sneeze while praying, cover your nose and mouth.
Yeah, praying is good. But something tells me she wears a surgical mask when her Mexican landscapers stop by, and she leaves the check in the mailbox.
And when y'all get done prayin' away the Swine Flu, could ya pray me up a million dollars? Papa needs a new pair of shoes.
.
Very funny. You're joking, I assume.
Funny, my mom took the course in miracles, prayed every day of her life, never hurt a fly, believed with every thing she had, and it didn't stop a horrible degenerative disease from slowly robbing her of every she had.
The self-help gurus AND religious entrepreneurs have no shame when it comes to this stuff. Nothing sells like hope.
Yes, nothing sells like "hope." That's why Obama is sitting in the Oval Office.
it wasn't "hope" that put him there - it was hard work, intelligence, capability, and commitment. that was what we had hoped for in a president to replace the log that was there before him. and we didn't just "hope" him into office, either - we campaigned, we volunteered, we walked, we donated, and we knew what we were talking about.
so if you think he got there like some snake-oil salesman, you're confusing him with a bush.
The power of the mind and the power of the irresponsible media. OK.
But pray away the swine flu...? Is this a joke?
As the logic and rationality experts pile on to explain that wishing for miracles is a useless expenditure of time, please note that self-help is the culprit here, not religion. Thanks in advance.
You do realize that religion is just a big self-help cult, right?
