Sexual Assaults happen every 107 seconds in the USA alone. This works out to be about 800 times a day. That is an unacceptable number. On top of this 68% of victims do not report their assault to the police. Why is this? Society sees people like Kesha coming out with her survival story and being denied release from her contract with her abuser; and several Canadian women standing up and accusing ex-reporter Jian Gomeshi and getting no justice from the court system, and feel as though there is little hope to change these numbers.

Why can't society solve the riddle of sexual assault? It's simple. A person makes a decision to violate another person's body. They chose to assault or rape them.

The victim did not ask for it.

The victim didn't put themselves in that situation.

The victim is not to blame.

So why does society put so much stigma on coming out as a survivor of sexual assault? Why are victims being blamed for these traumatizing events? The blame needs to be on the perpetrators for perpetrating.

Viner Chaz Smith wants to help put a stop to Rape Culture. Smith is using his voice to enlighten us on the stigma against sexual assault survivors. People have the power to change this terrible invasion of basic human rights. Change needs to come from every angle. Because we see inappropriate behavior everywhere, and some people see these behaviours as normal. Some people don't know what they are doing is not okay. But we can reprogram how our culture thinks about sexual assault and rape just by changing how we think and talk about it, as well as educating others on the subject. Join Chaz Smith in the conversation and help end Rape Culture forever.
