For many of us who were alive in the '80's he will forever be the guy with the monotone voice calling out "Bueller....Bueller.....," but Ben Stein is of course much more than just the character he played in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Over the years he's been an economist, author, columnist, actor and TV pitchman.

Aside from his work in Bueller, I first began to pay attention to Stein's work in the early 90's when he wrote a witty column that was often about his young son and their vacations in Sandpoint, Idaho. I was also impressed by a book he wrote back in the 70's about Hollywood with the provocative title The View From Sunset Blvd.

Stein recently dropped by the Bully! Pulpit Show to talk about his life and career. He was in pitch mode and wanted to talk about his movie at the time, Expelled, but I also managed to get him to talk about his legendary performance in Ferris Bueller's Day Off and other topics. I was surprised by one thing: I had always thought he was a Supply-Sider when it came to economics, but it turns out he's something of a Keynesian. The entire interview can be seen here.
