Grover Norquist and the Dubai deal

So who, exactly, was for the ports deal? Who, that is, with enough clout to make it happen?, perhaps?

Right then. Substantively, the Dubai Ports World deal is a menace to security. Politically, it has turned into a disaster for the Bush Administration.

It was approved in secret by a committee including the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Secretary of Homeland security, but all of them say they didn't know about it until the deal was done. Neither did the President.

So who, exactly, was for it? Who, that is, with enough clout to make it happen?

Grover Norquist, perhaps?

At some point, the press and the Democrats are going to start connecting the dots between the Bush/Rove/DeLay/Abramoff/Norquist political money machine and serious threats to our national security. That will be the day the wheels finally come off the Bushmobile.
