The longer this economic crisis goes on the more we're all getting screwed. Even Santa Claus wants a government bailout.
This week we're talking about the great Goose Island Sit-in at Republic Windows and Doors, Brian Urlacher's baby momma drama, selling Chicago's parking meters (thanks a ton, Mayor Daley) and the dangers of getting your first kiss AFTER you say, "I do."
Also local musician Andrew Francis debuts his new song, made special for Keeping Score in Chicago, "Dollars & Change." Hopelessness will set you free.
Be sure to check out Keeping Score in Chicago for more information and previous episodes.

I was born and raised in Chicago, which is why I make no apologies for the political culture. It works. It exposes and expells the really bad apples (Blago and his posse, and Richard Gillman, the greedy owner of Republic Windows), and it stands up for people who stand up for themselves, like the workers at Republic. Hate to bust any bubbles out there, but there's nothing wrong with clout. Everyone wants it, and nobody wants to give it up if they have it. The problem isn't clout, it's that people like you and me have allowed the Gillmans and Blagojevichs to get away with their naked greed. They are so out of touch that they don't even think they're greedy. They're just "doing business". But every once in awhile, a union throws down the gauntlet, a Mayor gets involved and a bank shows a heart. It doesn't happen often. In fact, it happens so infrequently that when it does occur, it makes the news. It's our fault, too, if our sole focus is to have all the goodies greedy people get, while the guy standing next to us is battling to keep his/her head abovve water. Greed is a really bad thing.
