After offering-up the latest GOP lie that $8 billion of the stimulus was line-itemed for "a ‘magnetic levitation’ line from Las Vegas to Disneyland" in last night's widely-panned speech, you'll never guess where Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) travels today:
After giving one of the biggest speeches in his time as a politician, Gov. Bobby Jindal is heading to Disney World.
Jindal's office says the governor and his family leave for the Orlando vacation resort today.
A perfect punctuation mark to the idiocy of last night's GOP response.

The problem here is people who want to maintain the luxury of driving everywhere. One commenter said it costs 45k per year per passenger, enough for gas and a car - but why does everyone need a car! This is such stupid thinking! It never ceases to amaze me how antiquated, stupid and obtuse (not to mention obese) Americans can be.
And I'm American.
Look. All this stuff about Jindal may ring true, others have written about it, I have'nt really followed it. I will admit that and dont want to go there as a result.
However, earlier studies conducted years ago about this high speed train, appeared to indicate that it was a costrly behemoth, it would cost more to ride those highly technically advanced trains than it would cost to drive there. As it stands, CSX is getting a huge giveaway, and some of those benefits are questionable as well - same rails. Despite the fact, voters in earlier elections had voted for high speed rail - Jeb Bush opposed this program for similar reasons - ridership (therefore ROI) on these trains. This is not to say those studies were either correct or perhaps tainted as a result of the times. Perhaps any commitment to this type of rail system should begin there. A frugal approach is not always a bad approach. For my part, I am not opposed to high speed rail, but I am a proponent of metro rail, thats what they should have come up in the first place. Especially in areas where commuters who use enormous amounts of gasoline just getting to work and back. Thats where money should be spent. first - on the major cities first. In that light, lets not get confused by our own thinking. BTW - a lot of people cant even afford to go to these parks anyhow.
I love the high speed rail arguments having heard them in both Denver and Miami. South Florida has a train thing from Miami to West Palm Beach, and back if you don't mind waiting a little while. lol This is called Tri-rail and started off with lots of fancy looking engines as the first and last cars and 7 - 8 double deck passenger cars. The last study I remember reading when costs were calculated per passenger/mile after deducting what the passenger actually paid, was it cost $45,000 per passenger per year or enough to give the passenger a really nice car and gas money and then bank the rest. In Miami there is the Metro-rail to nowhere (I am not making this up) that may be close enough that you could walk to a bus to actually get where you're going and also the thing called the metro-mover which is a kind of trolley thingy on its own bridge across the bay sometimes shown on CSI-Miami. All are mostly empty most of the time. They run on a set of tracks that do not pass thru any of the main cities or any of the Airports. Pure 'D' boondoggle.
Maybe Jindal should travel to Disney World via Amtrak and see how much they are in dire need of upgrades and improvement.
pinochio/jindal,,,,,,,,,,separated at birth
HE REALLY IS GOING HOME AS HE ACTS LIKE HE'S GOOFY'S BROTHER
SORRY GOOFY I REALLY DIDN'T MEAN TO OFFEND YOU.
your shift key is stuck
Yeah, he may have gone to Disney World, but not on board some fancy pants, energy efficient, high-speed, mag-lev train designed by Socialists over there in France. He drove down in a Hummer, and not just one, but a caravan of Hummers, with the a/c turned on high, the windows rolled down and "Drill Here, Drill Now", blaring on a sound system powered by burning a mixture of tar sand and polar bear blubber. That's because he's a true American!
Funny how he bashes projects which will run through republican states, giving republican voters jobs...
Oh, did he forget to mention that the ONLY high speed rail corridor with it's environmental impact report already ready is the one for Florida? Which means it's the one closest to actually being begun? Which means Jobs for Republican voters, and jobs means they won't vote the Republicans out.
Thank you Mr Governor for bashing Floridas High Speed Rail Authority by calling us a "Maglev between Vegas and Disney".
Jindal is exactly what the Republican party deserves
Yeah he has a strategy meeting with Mickey Mouse and Goofy was contracted to help provide him with future talking points. After these high levels meetings at Disney World just wait guys, he'll be better than ever!
If Jindal had done this as a routine on SNL, we would all be howling. It seems obvious to me that a lot of Republicans do not like this guy. How could they let this happen. But ... glad they did! Next!
Does this mean the up and coming has gotten up and went?
It's unfortunate for us Dems out here. I was really looking forward to those "gripping" intellectual debates between Palin and Jindal.
Unfortunately, this gives the GOP more time to figure out they haven't got it figured out yet. Maybe there's another brown skinned or breast enabled candidate in their party who's got something to offer. Now they have the time to ferret him/her out. Rats!
I'm holding onto the hopes and prayers of a Palin - Bachmann 'debate' and then Repub ticket. I'll even donate to see that too! wahahaha
There's going to be some good stuff for comedy next four years between Bobby and Sarah. Extreme north and south.
Maybe he can get some fresh ideas from the GOP brain, Micky Mouse.
Jindal is a LIAR.
Jindal only parrots Limbaugh talking points.
