Judy Miller's lawyer, Robert Bennett, told Wolf Blitzer that the reason that Judy didn't call Scooter to ask for a waiver was that it would have just ruined it if she'd called him first. Could it possibly be that her time in the slammer was caused by observing the tribal phone protocol of Candace Bushnell characters, studio executives or seventh-graders? If Walter Cronkite got Begin to invite Sadat to Israel, you'd think that Scott Rudin's assistant could've left word for Judy that Scooter had called, and then she'd have called him back, and before they'd have time to figure out who was returning whose, this whole jail thing would've been history.
