US Gets Weather Whiplash With Climate Change notes Andrew Freedman at Climate Central. Warming air and oceans mean more moisture in the air, and the jet stream, altered by a warming Arctic, now ensures it goes away and comes down far more intensely -- and disastrously. Don't forget to order plenty of sun block when reserving your spot on the Ark.

Global Carbon Dioxide Levels Are Passing 400ppm milestone, reports John Vidal at the UK Guardian, well beyond the 350 ppm level that many experts consider to have a reasonable chance of keeping planetary warming and climate change at a safe level, while nations are years away from cooperating on reducing emissions. And away we go, with MORE climate change!

White House 2B Told: Earth's Heat Shield Going Bye-Bye
reports Nafeez Ahmed at the UK Guardian. The summer Arctic ice cap is an important heat shield for Earth, reflecting back the substantial amount of 24 hour sunlight that falls on the planet, just like the heat shield tiles of NASA space shuttles. Without this fast disappearing shield, our planet will be absorbing far more heat, creating far more extreme climate change. And you thought it was hot and wild now... just wait!

☼☼☼Acting Like You Care: The XL Keystone pipeline will make possible far more climate change, but President Obama might okay it anyway. If you ever wanted to do something big for your future, now's your chance - here.

Every day is Earth Day, folks, as I was reminded by these mating butterflies I photographed a few days ago. Making the U.S. a global clean energy leader will ensure a heck of a lot more jobs, and a clean, safe future. If you'd like to join the increasing numbers of people who want to TELL Congress that they will vote for clean energy candidates you can do so here. It's our way of letting Congress know there's a strong clean energy voting bloc out there. For more detailed summaries of the above and other climate change items, audio podcasts and texts are freely available.
