The Sway Test

Clients tell me that they use the sway test frequently to receive a intuitive knowing whilst making a number of decisions. Some say it gives them instinctive guidance when buying fruit for breakfast. This method can be used for an intuitively knowing in many areas of our lives.

The sway test is one of the simplest methods of obtaining a yes, a neutral or a no response from within. With many of us an instinctive sway forward indicates a moving toward whatever we desire. However, I consistently wait expectantly with an open mind. I allow my clients intuition to guide the results they experience. In view of this there are no expectation given before the sway test of possible results. Here is an example of how I shared the sway test with a client at the end of their appointment.

As this client was getting ready to leave my consulting rooms she stood up and then started looking at all my books and was undecided about the one she wished to borrow from me. She became confused about which one to take away with her. Whilst she looked at these books I said to her "let your intuition guide you." When she pointed a book out to me I gave it to her to hold with both hands close to her heart. I suggested that she stood firmly on both her feet as she held this book. Then, I asked her to say to herself silently or out loud "this book is good for me". So, she did this with three or four books one after the other. As she voiced this statement her body sometimes swayed backward and sometime she stayed still in the upright or neutral position. Then when she had nothing in her hands I asked her if she would like to hold her hands whilst they were empty close to her heart and say "I have all that I need within me." After she repeated this statement her body swayed forward dramatically. She was so surprised, excited and happy to know that within herself at that moment in time she had all that she needed.

Whenever you wish to use this test on yourself. Stand in an upright position, feet a hip width apart and look straight ahead. Express or think of a statement, a statement is very much clearer than a question. Then, say your statement silently within when you are in a bookshop. Especially when you are not sure which book to buy. Hold the book close to you and say this book is good for me. Be open to notice what is happening with your body.
