Is This Really The #1 Resort In The US?

Last month the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California was voted the best resort in the United States. Earlier this year, I visited the property. Does it really deserve the number one spot?

Last month the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California was voted the best resort in the United States and the best golf resort by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler.

I actually visited and reviewed the award-winning "Italian Seaside Village" in the spring. Following are my personal pics -- not stock photos -- and comments. Weigh in your thoughts in the ratings: "fabulous," "what a dump" or somewhere in between.
