10 Minutes With Arne Duncan

The interview began with a playful introduction:

"And today our guest is a former standout of Australia's National Basketball League, but to our non-Tasmanian listeners, you may know him better as the United States Secretary of Education."

Fresh off meetings with college presidents and government officials at several Boston area schools, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan looked at me and chuckled. Perhaps he wondered what the next ten minutes would hold as guest on the popular education podcast, "The Harvard EdCast." Fielding a gamut of current educational queries, from the rising cost of college tuition to the changing role of education schools across the country, Sec. Duncan reflected on these issues facing the field. In fact, his subsequent Askwith Forum at the Harvard Graduate School of Education was called, "Fighting the Wrong Education Battles."
