While Super Bowl XLV was actually an exciting game, there were plenty of entertaining moments along the way for all of the non-sports fans watching. Some highlights included Bill O'Reilly asking Obama why people hate him so much in his pre-game interview, Christina Aguilera flubbing the lyrics to the national anthem, the Black Eyed Peas' Fergie and Slash making us all yearn for Axl Rose, and the post-game Glee "event" featuring a cameo by Katie Couric. Then, of course there were the commercials. Below are my picks for the top 10 funniest ads of the 2011 Super Bowl.

Volkswagen Commercial - The Force

The most talked about ad long before the game even started was this cute spot from Volkswagen featuring a pint-sized Darth Vader who gains the power to turn on a car using The Force.

the only good thing about that commercial that i could see is that they at least had the decency to disguise the child, and thet used a doll. surely, it was someone's home video and not a professional production?

The "GroupOn" ad was truly heinous; otherwise nothing special here unless you (like I) am a fan of early Elton.

If this is the best of the commercials I would hate to see the losers. Thank God the game offered some entertainment and excitement this year, or the whole event would have been a four-hour snooze fest.

what a crock, the Doritos commercial with the guy grabbing the other guys hand and sucking on one of his fingers was the funniest and it's not even listed???

Bring back the Budweiser Clydes. None of these ads were particularly good.

The Ozzy commercial for me is the best but right behind it is the Doritos where the one guy licked the other guys fingers.

Here's a good collection of the best Super Bowl commericals -- you know Reebok Terry Tate,
Coke - Mean Joe Greene, Budweiser classics, and the inimitable Michael Jordan...

Only a couple of these rank in my funniest category. It just goes to show you how wide our tastes our. I thought the Doritos revives everything ad might have been the best. And at least one of the Pepsi Max ads had me laughing more than these.

What happened to the "Living Social Changed My Life" ad???? OMG, funniest superbowl ad *EVER*.

I didn't think any of these were particularly funny. But I have one question: Is Chevy being serious about having that Facebook status reader thing in car? Are people so much in need of instant gratification that they NEED to know what's on their FB news feed while they're driving? Am I the only one that feels disturbed by this?

You are not alone. Another useless distraction for people to get into accidents or waste their time.

I liked the coke commercial with the dragons the best. It was a lot better than the ones selected. :)

What, no love for House? I thought it was a really great parody of the Mean Joe Green Coke ad.

Here's my take on the Chevy Volt ad. If you require a Facebook update to decipher whether or not your date had a good time....dude, the countdown has already begun.

What's funny about violence ?? Pepsi should be ashamed of itself and I'll be asking the CEO to hold herself responsible at the annual stockholders meeting. Are all the young ad writers so full of video game violence that they don't really have any humorous wit left?

Violence can be funny. Slapstick has been a comedy tradition for centuries.

Are you also offended by the Three Stooges?
