If a Democrat is sworn in as President in January as we at Max and the Marginalized all hope he/she is, we would like to see this person conduct an investigation of the current administration with respect to torture and for withholding evidence.
This week's song, strangely titled "When The Dog Who Keeps On Eating Things Throws Up" (as in the dog that ate the C.I.A. interrogation videos, the 10,000 missing emails from the time of prosecutor firings, etc.) is about looking into these matters and seeking justice for them, rather than waiting for them to surface over a number of years. Click the green button below to play - enjoy!
Max and the Marginalized write and record a new song once a week and post on Thursdays. This is their 11th song - you can find them and all their songs available for download here.
When the Dog Who Keeps on Eating Things Throws Up
When the dog who keeps on eating things throws up
And every shred of evidence has arrows pointing to the top
They might be dead by then, and hey they might be not
when the dog who keeps on eating things throws up
In the garbage dump of recent history
There's a warehouse's worth of paperwork that has disappeared mysteriously
Enclosed beneath a tomb that will one day be exhumed
But I don't have the time or half a mind for archaeology
And the recriminations for these interrogations no they never quite make it to the room at the top
And the holdouts for justice wait for comeuppance while the sits waiting and taps on its watch
So when they change the locks if the charges are brought well it never can come soon enough
Because their heads will be too dead to roll when the dog who keeps on eating things throws up
When the documents they all wash up on shore
And every missing paper clip can finally be spoken for
Who can wait that long, if there's any charge left in our spinal cord
So don't count on that 'cause spinelessness is de rigeur
And the recriminations for these interrogations no they never quite make it to the top of the list
And the holdouts for justice wait for comeuppance while the whole world's fingertips tap on its wrist
So when they change the locks if the charges are brought well it never can come soon enough
Because their heads will be too dead to roll when the dog who keeps on eating things throws up
And I'll stand corrected, depressed, dejected if I ever see a probable cause
And come retribution, say, prosecution well I'll welcome that day with applause
But it's quite necessary, come January that this subject be quickly brought up
Because their heads will be too dead to roll
These burning engines all run cold
But still I'll clutch my stomach sick
With boots on and no shins to kick
So I'll wear my throat out singing songs
Cause history takes far too long
And I might not still be mad enough
When the dog that keeps on eating things throws up
