Max and the Marginalized are a band in Los Angeles that writes and records a new song every week for Huffington Post. Be their friend on Facebook or MySpace.

Black and White and Red All Over

So they finally got to you
These defenders of misdeeds
Start the week with your attitude
It's fit to print but not to read
Guaranteed to make it difficult to keep our breakfast down
There's nothing wrong with a counterweight to balance out a bluish tint
Another space to prognosticate, it's AM radio in print
I am squinting at the horoscopes for predictions less unsound
How long will you keep this guy around?

Set your weekly standards lower
Black and white and red all over

So you finally got to them
You told them once, you told them twice
Collect the dividends, coming from the left and from the right
Acolytes, keep your two cents off the newsstand price
Tell me why I don't like Mondays, tell me why

Set your weekly standards lower
Black and white and red all over

In every column inch of copy
There's a stain on the page, it's not my coffee
Set your weekly standards lower
Black and white and red all over

Who let the dog in?

The New York Times brings its entire integrity into question when it hires Bill Kristol to opine on its pages. Kristol has lied, and will continue to lie, to bolster the Bush policy of military belligerency because he is one of the initiators of that policy. This is a mongrel that finds comfort in its own feces. Why should the Times lay itself down to facilitate the cur?

I love Kristol. He speaks the truth for the most part. Especially about Hillary's crocodile tears stealing the NH primary from Obama.

I agree with Kristol in that they were fabricated and well timed. Just amazing through all of the emotion, she was alble to stay on message.

I don't think we need a femi nazi(women hear me strong) in office for president.

What is she going to do for an encore? Cry her way to the White House?

The Grey Lady sent me a snail-mail subscription solicitation yesterday. I find the timing particularly odd. While I support Mr. Kristol's constitutional right to spew the crap of his choosing in the public square and on the opinion page of the NYT, I could not help scrawling my own very terse message on the top of the enclosed form, tearing off the rest of it, putting my little note in the post-paid return envelope and sending it on it's way. This will, I trust, result in the per-piece charge for the postage and handling of the form from the subscription service without producing any revenue.

The problem with Kristol being at the Times is not his politics, whether or not you happen to disagree with them. It's that the Times is violating their own Journalists Code of Ethics to hire him. You are not supposed to work as a journalist at the Times if you advise a political campaign (Kristol is a foreign policy advisor for McCain). You are not supposed to have a job with another publication (Kristol will continue to draw a paycheck as editor of the Weekly Standard, owned by Rupert Murdoch). Kristol will be given further exemption from the Times' employee guidelines and allowed to remain on the board of policy think tanks.
So when you're done humming along to the song, I suggest you all write to the Times Public Editor(public@nytimes.com) and ask him, after all the ethics scandals they have had with Jayson Blair, Judith Miller, Wen Ho Lee, etc. why do they want to get themselves in trouble again with this guy? It's not like he's such a great writer-in his very first column on Monday he attributed a quote to the wrong person!

Billy K is Buckley
Without the brains or hair
He keeps his double chins at bay
With his head cocked in the air.

His smugish smile is smarmy
His body soft and pale
When he pronounces "thus is so"
You know the truth will bail.

Watching his convoluted mind
Flounder, careen and flop
Makes thinking people laugh like hell
At that foolish, useless fop.

"Kristol pushed me over the edge. I began boycotting the Times last week and I don't miss it at all. I hope many others do the same."
Count me in. My ritual is to buy a NYT on my way home from work most nights, then slog down to the corner on Sunday for a copy. I, too, stopped buying it last week so they've lost my forty bucks a month. Wonder if they give a damn?

Here's a much, much better idea.
Let's completely ignore kristol and the NYT like they don't exist.

The primary reason people hate William K. is because they can't accept the fact that there is a real enemy that is trying to kill us. The WK haters have many thoughts in common as I have read countless postings.
To the haters, Israel is the only enemy of America, and the terrorists in the middle east only exist because we support Israel and invaded Iraq. So far, I think you are with me, liberals. Now I will upset you.
The haters also hate WK because he is a Jew, and to them Jew=Zionist=enemy of the downtrodden masses. You may still agree with me, at least a little bit, because after all this is the leftist party line.
Now today's New York Times has an article about executions and amputation punishments in Iran that has even come to the attention of human rights activists who usually only blame America.
Read the article.
Another common theme is that the charming fellow that bloggers call by the nickname "Amdinnerjacket" because he is so warm and fuzzy, is actually powerless and a figurehead and when he talks about killing us he is only kidding. The WK haters know in their hearts that their wonder-boy in Iran really tried to stop the amputation punishments but the mean old clerics overruled him.

i don't like bill kristol and i surely don't agree with him but i enjoy the freedom to read and disagree. i also read the nyt, i also read huffpost and a lot of other news sites. different points of view is good for your mind.
it'd be pretty grim living in an environment where no one disagrees with you and everyone says the same thing. kinda like fox news.

Great Tune! It should be played whenever Kristol opens his trap to drown him out!

Bill Kristol ... a very perceptive and honest commentator.

If you don't like his opinions ... tough.

Maybe you can write a Rock Concert on the "Weekly Standard"..
