Christopher Hitchens's press secretary, Marc Cooper, took a few swipes at me today on his blog for my post last week about his boss's habit of enabling Holocaust deniers. Cooper called me "Baby Blumenthal" at least three times; he called me a "liberal Leninist" (I'm actually a liberal Lennonist); he called me a "featherweight;" and he questioned my motives, accusing me of trying to settle my father's scores.

Finally, after heaping all kinds of insults on me, Cooper wrote: "I’m all for disagreement and heated, no-holds-barred debate and polemics. Take on anyone you damn well please. But do it with some solid arguments and some sound reasoning. Not with slander and innuendo."

So where were Cooper's own arguments and sound reasoning? Nowhere. Not once did he attempt to dispute the facts I raised about Hitchens's dalliances with Holocaust deniers. Not once. Can you dispute any of the facts I raised, Marc? Can you? They are all here.

Or can't you do any better than slander and innuendo?
