Top 7 Hilarious Fake Tweets

What's Your Reaction:

Fake tweeters impersonate corporations or characters and often become become wildly popular. After looking at these tweets you'll understand why. I've taken the top retweets from @BPGlobalPR, @APStyleBook, @DarthVader, @Stewie and @FakeParamount (top retweets courtesty of Klout). I think the slideshow speaks for itself...

@BPGlobalPR has been wildly popular, much more so than the official @BP_America. With tweets like this you can see why.

Kinda lame.. best one so far: CNN's Rick Sanchez' account getting hacked and posting a tweet that went, "i am high on crack right now might not be coming into work today."

ugh some of these make me wanna get a twitter account just to read them daily for the laughs. Does anyone know if you can view twitter accounts without actually signing up?

No, I don't think so. But you can always make a fake account without adding any personal info or pictures in it.

On slide 6 with the fake AP style post, look at Huff Post's comment on it. Shouldn't it be "the drier @AP...." not dryer?
11:41 AM on 06/10/2010
Dryer is appropriate because they meant dry as in humor.

I don't think that's right. Look up dryer and drier. Dryer does not fit.

I guess if your market is the over-40 crowd, twitter is a good place to post your messages.

Hillarious! The BP tweets were especially poignant. Good show Twitter, we can ALL use a little gallows humor.
