A Burlesque-inspired swimwear fashion show inside a 100-degree Hamam? Um, yes. That's how fashion designer Karelle Levy featured her KRELwear 2011 resort collection at The Standard hotel during Miami swim week.
"For me swimwear is about going from the bedroom to the pool," says Ms. Levy.
The 25-piece knit collection, with its signature tears, rips and pulls, had me wondering if Edward Scissorhands was backstage. Dancers donning cover-ups and vintage-style, square-bottom bathing suits paired with bandeau tops performed in a variety-show that was just a little dirty and fabulously cheeky.
But, is this more suited to St. Tropez, or St. Tro-no-you-don't? Or are you on the fence and just happy for me that I lost two pounds in an hour?
