Mormon Underwear to Attend Democratic Convention

Mormon underwear has plans to attend the Democratic National Convention, and it won't be on a person.

The American Atheists' Center recently unveiled a planned billboard campaign "which exposes the foolishness of religion in the political landscape," according to a press release.

The billboards offer up exaggerated beliefs of targeted religions, including Mormonism, in order to make the case that atheism is "simple reasonable." The billboards are slated to be installed in Charlotte, North Carolina, where the Democratic National Convention will be held in September of this year. Allegedly, according to their press release, the Atheists' Center was given a cold shoulder when trying to do the same in Tampa, Florida, this year's home of the Republican National Convention.

The billboards serve to not just draw attention to atheism, but to the close ties religion has with the election this year.

"The election of our leaders in the United States is one of the most important decisions that we as citizens make. Allowing our judgment to be clouded by sheer silliness is unacceptable. We want to show the people of our country the foolishness of mixing religion with politics," the president of the organization says.

We're going to have to agree with that sentiment, but calling out religious beliefs the way you do in your billboards is probably not the best way to make your case. Either way, you have us talking about it so kudos to you.
