Michael Moore Responds to Joe Lieberman

(Last night, during his primetime speech from the podium at the Republican National Convention, Senator Joe Lieberman made the following statement: "... if John McCain is just another partisan Republican, then I'm Michael Moore's favorite Democrat. And I'm not. And I think you know that I'm not.")

Dear Joe:

John McCain IS just another partisan Republican -- so that must mean you ARE my favorite Democrat!

But how can you be my favorite Democrat when you are no longer a Democrat? This is very confusing. I was in the middle of taking out the garbage and, all of a sudden, there you were, trash-talking me in front of thousands of cheering (mostly) white people on TV.

What is it with you and your Republican friends always bringing me up? Can't you stop thinking about me? It's starting to sound like a fetish! Stop it! Four years ago at the last Republican Convention, John McCain, in his convention speech, also trashed me, calling me a "disingenuous filmmaker" because I called all of you out in "Fahrenheit 9/11." The crowd at Madison Square Garden went berserk. McCain didn't know I was sitting above him in the press box, and the crowd wouldn't stop screaming at me, so I flashed them the "Big L" loser sign and, well, nine of New York's finest had to help me get out of there alive.

With all the problems facing the world, why is valuable time being wasted reviewing a movie and attacking a filmmaker? And now you, Joe, tonight. Do you think you're energizing the "base" by attacking me? Better take a look at the scoreboard. While your side has spent years trying to make me the boogeyman, let's see how it's worked:

** 2006 Congressional elections: Republicans lose 30 seats in the House and 6 seats in the Senate;

** States That Have Lost a Republican Governor (and elected a Democrat) since 2002: Kansas, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Tennessee -- EACH ONE OF THEM A RED STATE!;

** Latest Gallup Poll: Obama hit 50% yesterday for the first time for either candidate, 8 points ahead of McCain!

Do you see the trend?

Putting me in your convention speeches, attacking me nonstop on talk radio and Fox News -- and thinking that this helps you -- shows just how out of touch you all are.

Two-thirds of the country agree with my position on the war, two-thirds of the country agree with my position on a single-payer universal health care system, two-thirds believe in some form of gun control -- name the documentary, pick the issue, and the American public agrees with Michael Moore. So get over me, will ya? You're only hurting yourself. And I've got to finish taking out the garbage.

"... if John McCain is just another partisan Republican, then I'm Michael Moore's favorite Democrat. And I'm not. And I think you know that I'm not." Now click your heels together and say, "There's no place like home on the Republican minority side of the aisle."

Yours,
Michael Moore

Warning - Conservative View

Lieberman was your vice presidential pick just 8 years ago and still caucuses as a democrat. Just 4 years ago, McCain was so far to the left that Kerry considered him for your VP. McCain led the fight against torture, stood up for Kerry during the swift boat attacks and broke with the party over immigration (not to mention judicial appointments).

McCain and Lieberman both backed the surge which Obama himself has admitted was a success.

Thanks Michael Moore, excellent work. They know you have power with words and to them, that's scary. I found Joe L. whole speech a big disappointment. As a Democrat, you weren't talking to me Joe L. -- because I know which Joe I'm voting for, and it has Biden at the end of it.

John McCain and Palin and Lieberman are TOTALLY SCRIPTED. The entire Republican Party does not know what to say unless they have a script to follow.

Warning - Conservative

Scripted would have given us Mitt Romney as our VP. Speaking of VPs, you really should dump Biden for Hillary. I probably shouldn't offer advice, but Hillary on the ticket would assure victory. Stick with Biden and it is an even money bet.

Michael, I know what Liberman's and GOP's real issue is with you: In their make belief world, they receive instructions directly from the big man in the sky, they carry them out with patriotic zeal, even if in many cases they go straight to jail in the process, because their hands are not clean. Ronald Reagan taught them to blame Democrats and Congress for their own failings. Along comes a person like you that punctures this carefully orchestrated image of themselves, and exposes a conniving, thieving, lying bunch of retards. Did I mention greedy and hypocritical too? That is the ugly family secret they don't want seeing the light of day.

Much as I admire your work Michael I have to disagree on two points and on Obama's candidacy as a whole. The entire premise of the "Left's" dislike for Lieberman and their worshipping of Obama hinges on one issue: the Iraq war. Obama made an anti-war speech in 2002 when he was not in the Senate. Once he did get into the Senate, his vote is almost identical to that of Hillary's, whom the far Left love to hate! Hypocrisy is not just the hallmark of the looney Right!

"Latest Gallup Poll: Obama hit 50% yesterday for the first time for either candidate, 8 points ahead of McCain!" It's not a "trend" as you may like to call it Michael, it is a post Convention bounce as witnessed almost always in past Elections. As a fact of matter and historically speaking, Obama got a far lesser bounce than usual!

As for Liberman, yes he has been a hawk and very pro Bush on this singular issue but he is a true blue lifetime Democrat who has upheld all Dem ideals so attarctive to the Left ...

Mac is transforming Republicans. No question.....his theme came through loud and clear.

He's solidifying his base, losing independents, and keeping moderates about the same. I wouldn't call that transformation.

I was a Hillary supporter.

McCain is showing extremely poor judgement.

Sarah Who?

Since when should I vote gender above competence?

McCain is a gimmick.

I'm not a Republican or a Democrat.

And I'm not transformed by gimmicks.

Keep up the great work, Michael, I hope you know we love you and the valuable service you have rendered this nation exposing the lies and treason of those at the top. Lieberman is no Democrat. We know that, but still love to watch you stuff it down their throats. Here's to the day the crimes of this administration will be dragged out into the light for all and history to see!
