Reading The Pictures: McCain To The Skinheads In Four Easy Steps

I'm skeptical about drawing conclusions about Obama's near, middle or long-term safety based on the so-called plot by two crazy skin heads disclosed yesterday. What I am concerned about, however, is three things:

a.) All these haters being given more than their fifteen minutes of fame based on a right-wing hail mary intended to sow doubts about the physical viability of Obama or Obama's ability to lead white Christian America.

b.) The media's propensity to give this extremism and fear-mongering a platform because it sells.

c.) That certain crazies might actually be coming out of the woodwork right now as the result on an extended period of instigation and fomentation by McCain and Palin.

You seriously think that Fox News or McCain/Palin are inciting violence against another candidate? That somehow the RACIST EXTREMISTS need convincing to act like RACIST EXTREMISTS? Listen to yourselves for a moment, and don't let fanboyism of a particular politician cloud objective judgment.

I don't watch fox news so I can't speak to them, however I do watch the rallies of Palin-McCain. Don't you think words like "he's a muslim", "he's not like us", "he's associated with a terrorist named Bill Ayers", "his minister Rev. Wright hates America", "he's a communist" all these and other words came out from the crowd during speeches by Palin and McCain and words about Obama from both McCain and Palin.
McCain had to correct a misguided person when she said Barack was an Arab( can't keep their lies straight), seems finally McCain has had enough but not man enough to put a stop to the lies that bring out the crazies from the rightwing nuts.
Now the skinheads might not even vote but all they need is an excuse to act out on their hatred towards those who McCain and Palin say are different from them.
And I use rightwing nut just as the rightwing call us LIBERALS unAmerican and whatewver else they can use to degrade us Americans who think differently than rightwingers, we LIBERALS are for all Americans whereas rightwingers are only for those who think as they do.

Okay, so now you're holding the candidates responsible for the actions of those who actually would incite bigotry and whatnot, while providing an example of the candidates trying to correct these attendees? As I said earlier, we're not talking about the average person, least of all the average supporter of McCain-Palin. Would you supporters of Obama like your extreme end highlighted? I'm sure the Marxists would enjoy the limelight for a little while.

Let's be a little more realistic, folks, and quit ignoring the outliers. There will always be extremes in either direction. Stop focusing on them and losing the big picture.

RC1, I find it extremely humorous that, while you claim you LIBERALS are for all Americans, you rail against "rightwingers". I absolutely believe "change is coming", and likewise believe America will not be so fond of it when it actually happens.

All we can do is pray for our candidates, especially Barack Obama since the right wingers has put a target on his back with incendiary comments about his affilations and falsehoods about his religion and also his connections to Bill Ayers, calling Barack a socialist, a commie and a muslim. These remarks do bring out the worse in people with hate in their hearts as demonstrated by comments heard and actions seen at McCain/Palin rallies! for instance the man holding a stuffed monkey with a banner of Barack Obama,s name on it.

Your points are well-taken, however do not forget that it was Hillary Clinton who first cast un-American suspicion upon Obama during her 60 Minutes interview when she answered the question that Obama is not a Muslim "...as far as I know," when she in reality knew perfectly well that he is not. Mrs. Clinton further damaged the candidate she now supports by justifying the protracted length of her primary run by stating she's staying "in it to win it" because anything can happen, unconscionably raising the spector of an Obama assassination by opening the country's psychic wound of RFK's late-stage campaign tragedy.

All of these ridiculous lies about Barack Obama can be traced back to FOX NEWS. Whether it's Hannity or some unknown "political strategist". All spreading contempt and casting suspicion. Giving themselves and their viewers false reasons to be racist. Reasurring them that it's ok to hate Obama....and democrats....and liberals....and anyone different than them. They should share the blame in inciting this fear and hatred.

What I fear, is we haven't seen nothing yet.

By not stopping the comments made by their supporters (until the very last part of the campaign when forced to by public outcry). By not stating publicly that the viscous smear emails sent through the "Christian" email programs were not right and were hateful. By focusing on the issues and not using code terms like "socialist", "paling around with terrorists", and "not one of us" in their campaign speeches. By not calling Obama "that one" during the second debate. Need more examples? Then just read through their speeches. Their campaign advisors and speechwriters knew exactly what would rally the base and the fringe "racists" who also attend the rallies. Poor McCain, whom I supported in 2000, is so removed from that honorable man he used to be and it's a shame.

I wish to God that people like this did not exist. I hate to give in to the fear, but the fear of racist, white supremists are alive and well. Just check out Southern Poverty Law Center and check it out if you don't believe me. I pray that Obama has state of the art security for him and his lovely family.
