Seeing this NYT photo taken from the Obama "Freedom Train" on Saturday outside Claymont, Delaware, then reading Frank Rich's piece this weekend, detailing the intractability of urban problems, and specifically, the well-being of the 19% of D.C.'s population -- predominantly black ...and invisible -- living below the poverty line, I couldn't help but think of this visual analogy.
If we've come so far, there still is so far to go.

They're also standing on a nice new addition to a rowhouse which also has a new shed in good condition in front of them. They're in good spirits, warmly dressed, and excited to see the Obama-Bide
When I saw the photo, I was excited to share the moment with them. It looked like fun.
