Round and round it goes and where it stops nobody knows. Who will be the next Secretary of State for President Elect, Barack Obama? Will it Senator John Kerry, Senator Hillary Clinton, Senator Dick Lugar or Governor Bill Richardson? The stakes are very high and up for grabs. Where will each one of these accomplished candidates fall on the chess board? Testimonies for each and every one of them have appeared on the pages of the blogs, newspapers and magazines and in the television pundit commentaries. Remarkably, all are brilliantly talented and part of what should be the A Team that leads us out of darkness into the glorious sunshine of a new tomorrow. We will even let Republicans in and put out the welcome mat.
Why don't we take the time to luxuriate in the victories of this November that reach from the Presidency to the Congress, up and down the coasts and throughout this nation without any further angst about the new Administration. That is very last year. It should be our mantra. No more angst about politics! The media and the pundits should take a chill, and let Barack meet with folks without all of the sensationalisms. Again, it's like watching an episode of Lost where you feel a bit dizzy and off center after each and every spin of the bottle.
Trust that the man we elected will make the right choices. The game of musical chairs (or was that wars) is finally over. Rejoice and enjoy the Obama euphoria. All too soon we will need to strap in for the challenges of a lifetime in righting this country once again. There's plenty to worry about as the economy continues to spiral out of control, and many American families are irrevocably impacted.
The wise man will figure out the seating at his dinner table for the next 8 years. We don't need any more guessing or speculation. There is enough instability without adding any more drama.

THANK YOU!
Enough with the speculation, and guessing games...and with all the "outrage" and panic of picks that are nothing but speculation!
YES!
I continue to support President-Elect Obama, but I have a slight discomfort about the way he seems to be proceeding with appointments. The US is a country with a large population; its universities are brimming with top-notch scholars and it has a business community with many talented ethical leaders. So then, why would the "change candidate" rely on the same old tired Washington faces, those that have helped get us to our present predicament?
I hope that my discomfort is just a cold coming on and not something like my premonition when Clinton was elected president; that is we had elected a person with no core valves except self-promotion. Start paying attention now folks: If Obama puts Iraq on the back burner; if he doesn't curtail the redistributions of wealth through the military budget; if he doesn't act decisively and immediately on health care; if he moderates his positions on regulation, history will just be repeating itself and you can look forward our continuing progression toward dictatorial oligarchy.
There is a great deal of talent in the immediate reach of the President elect and many esteemed scholars and business people. Our emotions are being manipulated by all the soap opera perpetuated by the media machine. Everyone is just a little off balance as the stories bombard us from the front and back. We need a chance to step back, enjoy the victories as much as we can given the plight of this country at this moment, and breathe deeply. Arianna got it right in her latest holding Hank's feet to fire with $290B already used in the bail out.
We've got a great deal to fix. Only the tip of the iceberg is visible, there is much more under the surface that has been surpressed by this Administration. As we often say, hand on to your hat! And let's not waste emotion over Cabinet selection -- we will need it for the really hard choices coming down the road.
