America Is Ready For A Mother

Mothers are the emotional backbones of a family. They are the glue of a family. Mothers make sacrifices for the greater good for the family. Make no mistake, the United States is a family. We might be a giant dysfunctional one, but we are a family all the same.

Dear Hillary:

I'm an Independent, former Republican, and I'm voting for you. I have disagreed with some of your political views, but I've been a fan of yours since your "baking cookies" comment in 1992.

If we are lucky enough to dodge the catastrophe of Donald Trump there is no going back to politics as usual.

Trump is only a symptom of the problem. Too many Americans feel like they don't have a voice, and there is nothing left to lose.

People are hurting. So many Americans still suffer from the mortgage crisis and the recession.

Americans have watched their jobs disappear and watched their costs soar. While politicians and banks get richer, a majority of Americans (63 percent) don't have savings to cover an unexpected $500 car repair or a $1,000 hospital emergency room visit.

It should not be a surprise to anyone that Trump's message has resonated with so many people.

America is supposed to be a government of the people, by the people, for the people.

Our democracy was designed to represent all of the people. Not just the rich and powerful people. Not just the corporations and lobbyists.

We've had many "fathers" of our country but the time has come for our country to have a mother.

You are smart. You are tenacious. All the trials and challenges you've faced in your life have made you strong and have prepared you for your role as the first Mother of country.

Mothers are the emotional backbones of a family. They are the glue of a family. Mothers make sacrifices for the greater good for the family. Make no mistake, the United States is a family. We might be a giant dysfunctional one, but we are a family all the same.

If you are elected, it will be up to you to heal our country. Be the leader that we all know you can be. Be the first Mother of America.
