Just like having the perfect dress can make a cocktail party full of strangers a little less scary, being properly outfitted for the gym can make the whole thing a bit less daunting. So on Better.tv and SheZoom, we're showing you good-looking, functional workout wear all under $20.

Tops: For indoor workouts or as a base layer, the Athletech Basic Tank Top ($13) is all you need. Add the company's Active Performance Color Block Tee ($9) and a jacket for outdoor workouts; on colder days, layer it on top of C9 by Champion's Long Sleeve Tee ($15).

Bottoms: The least expensive piece on the list, these Athletech Active Performance Reflective Piping Shorts ($7.49) are actually really solid for running - lightweight, plus they have built-in underwear and a little pocket for keys. C9 by Champion's version ($10.49) is made of 100% cotton, and Old Navy's Yoga Capris ($10) are perfect for running outside or...yoga.

Bras: Gold's Gym's Racer Bra ($19) is made of a soft, stretchy cotton/spandex blend, and has a ¾" band in the front to keep it in place. Old Navy's Sports Bra ($15) has a higher cut for more coverage, and if you're feeling particularly brave, you can wear it alone - the modern styling makes it look something like a top.
