OK Guys, it's Valentine's day weekend, and lets face it -- you blew it. You've got no gift, no reservations, no tickets to a Broadway show, no agreement with mariachis to serenade your woman in the morning.

So how are you going to save yourself from being in the dog house for the foreseeable future? If you are in the NY Metro area, here are a few things you can do to change you luck and hopefully, your night.

1 - Take your date to the Museum of Sex; It'll be open on Valentine's weekend till 9PM ET. Located on 233 Fifth Avenue (@ 27th Street), the museum presents the history, evolution and cultural significance of human sexuality. They have over 15,000 objects, including works of art, photography, clothing, costumes and "technological inventions." This year, they have exhibits called Rubbers: The Life, History and Struggle of the Condom and Action: Sex and the Moving Image. Either one of these are sure to stimulate you and your mate's "intellectual curiosity."

2 - No dinner reservation? No problem. You and your Valentine can transform a boring night of take out to "dark dining." Simply make a meal or order from your favorite restaurant and add this twist: after serving the meal, blindfold yourselves and let your senses of taste, smell and touch take over. Make sure that the food isn't hot soup and that it doesn't require sharp knives. (Pre-cut if necessary). With a little background music and a sense of adventure, this could be the most romantic meal you've ever had. Don't worry if it gets a little messy, you can find creative ways of cleaning up afterward.

3 - If a night indoors isn't your style, there are a whole host of clubs open this Valentines day with romance in mind -- clubs like Duvet where the whole place is centered around beds. I'd avoid the club scene myself if you are looking for an intimate setting. Maybe a better idea is Valentine's day karoke! Go to Korea Town where you may be able to rent a small room for you and your honey, and serenade her in private, complete with backup music and drinks for some liquid courage to belt out those velvety tunes.

4 - As for gifts, if you totally forgot, then let me suggest this: Valentines day is expensive for women before they even step out the door. Hair, makeup, a mani-pedi or maybe even a Brazilian are all part part of their to-do list to get ready for the weekend. A great last minute gift would be to foot the bill for the pre-date primping. Think of it as an investment into the evening's activities.

If you take my advice, you might save yourself from being "that guy" who forgot all about Valentine's Day. Remember, the effort you put into the day is directly related to what you get back ... so step it up!
