Either way, you have to be careful because there's a thin line between confidence and arrogance. One will get you the guy, the other gets you kicked to the curb.

Now a lot of guys might be turned off by these texts. But my guess is that a lot more would admire them. "Cocky funny" is an approach that a lot of straight seduction gurus championed a few years ago. The idea is to make somebody laugh while being incredulous at your ballsy way of talking. Here's an example of cocky funny in real life.
You go up to a guy and say, "Steve! Hey, it's me, Mike!"
"Steve" has no idea who you are.
You: "OMG, you don't remember one of your best friends in high school?"
"Steve": "No, I'm sorry, I... I... don't."
You: "Steve, we used to cut classes and smoke pot. You don't remember?"
"Steve": I really don't.
You: Neither do I. I'm just kidding. I have no idea who you are--I just wanted to meet you. So where did you go to high school?
You're either going to be turned on or put off, but either way you will admire the balls it took to do something like that. And that admiration is the whole premise behind "cocky funny." Because the line between admiration and cohabitation is thin and short. The question is whether you can actually do that over text. The lack of context is troublesome. In real life, "Steve" can see your smile, your energy, and how good-looking you are. Over text, not so much.
But it's still worth trying to be cocky funny in your texts. Guys are attracted to confidence and sometimes even arrogance. And what you may lack in looks you can make up for in chutzpah.
