Awkward Family Photos: Mother's Day 2012

When it comes to celebrating the woman who gave you life, you have to do something special. So, when we decided to launch our official Awkward Family Photos app for the iPhone right before Mother's Day, we wanted to do something that honored Mom in all of her awkward glory. Using some of our classic images of the woman in charge, we put together a set of Mother's Day e-cards which are available through the app. Preview twelve of our favorites below.

GAAA!! i look like me!!! i was litle girl dress match red....curl glasses :)))) hair only dark brown mix black nature......not gold......my friend deaf anne had medium curl gold and glasses same:)) like me with physically disabled.......... my old family photos......

panel 6, omg!! i was little girl with curlt hair , glasses and my face and dress match in red my family portraint!! gaaa!! i look like me..hair dark brown..not that gold.. other friend deaf anne had with god hair.same:)))

The only thing we should take from these photos is that love is expressed in many different ways and what may look abnormal to us is completely acceptable to the individuals who are photographed. Many of the 'awkward' people in these photos seem to be expressing love for their families. It's not for anyone to judge or make rude remarks about.

That woman in the lead photo needs to get the owl glasses off the kid and give him a proper hair cut. Maybe she really wanted a girl.

Check this out, when I was around 3-4 years old my Mother had let my hair grow half-way down my back, and it was blonde as all get out. I'm a guy now, so listen, one day she fixed my hair, dressed me in a sun dress she called it, and took me and my 2 yr. old sister to get our pics took! Talk about embarrassing! When I got older those pictures suddenly vanished.

I had to laughed at some of them but the one that is pregnant....that was too much for me!!! Is that a tattoo on her belly? I also wouldn't be posing with bra and underwear on! She could at least fix her hair!!

Yeah, its a little creepy that the mom needs to turn her kid into a miniature version of herself. Seems like there's no healthy seperation of the individual identity of the mom and kid.
