Lindsay Lohan's "SNL" hosting duties turned into a "supporting female role" in pretty much every sketch, this, unfortunately, directly affected the female cast members, namely Vanessa Bayer and Nasim Pedrad. They were around -- certainly more than Jay Pharoah -- but it's almost if they had to give up lines to Lohan. Regardless, on a show that was this underwhelming, to say the least, perhaps there really are no winners. Well, except for the winner of this week's Relevancy Poll.
1. Jason Sudeikis. (Last Week: 5) The only thing that would have made his 'Weird Guy Fire' even better is if he just never turned back around to explain that he wasn't actually selling an eight-CD set of music. No, he just stared into the fire for eternity, longing for those eight CDs. An eight-CD set that, sadly, does not exist.
2. Bobby Moynihan: (Last Week: 13) Moynihan and Taran Killam should work together more often. There's definitely something there between the two of them.
3. Kristen Wiig (Last Week: 8) Seeing Sudeikis and Wiig sit next to each other as Mitt and Ann Romney, I couldn't help but think, "Whatever happened to 'Two A-Holes'?" It's been over two years since the last installment. If both Sudeikis and Wiig leave at the end of this season, I hope they decide to bring them back one last time.
4. Bill Hader (Last Week: 7) I feel I was a little hard on Hader's James Carville in yesterday's scorecard. For the record: I love Hader's Carville. I was just hoping for a stronger response to the Rush Limbaugh controversy.
5. Kenan Thompson (Last Week: 1) Lindsay Lohan may have singlehandedly killed the chances of Scared Straight from ever appearing again ... for better or for worse.
6. Fred Armisen (Last Week: 4) I'm starting to get the sense that Armisen is only having fun on the show when he plays is overly eccentric characters. I'm almost starting to think that the reason we've seen so little of Obama this season is Armisen's own doing.
7. Andy Samberg (Last Week: 12) I really do think the Digital Short era is coming to an end. It's March and there have only been two so far this calendar year and both have been pretty bad. Which is a shame, because they really did change "SNL" for the better over the course of, now, seven seasons.
8. Taran Killam (Last Week: 6) A light-ish week this week, but it's only six more shows until Taran Killam's world domination begins. (Also, that was perhaps the greatest Prince Charming ever performed.)
9. Abby Elliott (Last Week: 10) I can't imagine that that Elliott will return next season. First, she's the lead in a Fox pilot so she's actively looking for other work. Plus, even if that pilot doesn't get picked, she has to be frustrated with her stagnant role on "SNL."
10. Vanessa Bayer (Last Week: 11) I said this last week, "My gut feeling tells me that we are in store for a 'Miley Cyrus Show' the week that Lindsay Lohan hosts." Alas.
11. Nasim Pedrad (Last Week: 9) Nasim Pedrad deserves better than playing fifth fiddle in something called "Rude Buddha." And her Jasmine was great in "Disney Housewives," but had to share time in what was essentially an ensemble sketch.
12. Seth Meyers (Last Week: 2) Again, it's nice to see Meyers showing up in a sketch. But "Update" was a bit of a let down post Poehler. And then there's that whole "head writer" title that Meyers owns in a week that wasn't particularly great.
13. Jay Pharoah (Last Week: 3) Unfortunately, Pharoah seemed like the odd man out this week. Everyone but Pharoah seemed to have his or her moment this week.
