This post is based on three particular events that occurred within the last 24 hours. The first took place at Trump's new D.C. hotel he was promoting on Friday with the ruse to reporters that he would be making a statement regarding President Obama's birthplace with their ability to ask follow-up questions.
The second was his evening event in Miami, where he advocated that HRC's bodyguards should forfeit their firearms and to then see what happens to her.
The third was seeing a video of a secret meeting of White Supremacists at a clandestine location in D.C. as aired on MSNBC last night (Rachel Maddow Show), featuring the use of "pepe" the green frog, now used to symbolize racist power that was also inserted into a post by his son (Donald, Jr.?), showing a group picture of his father with the likes of Giuliani, Carson, etc, labeled, "The Deplorables"---Trump front and center with his henchmen. The racist group in the video on Maddow's show now believe they can go mainstream because they have found a leader in Donald Trump. Recall this past week as well, that Trump's running mate would not even describe the former KKK leader, David Duke, as deplorable. And further recall that at the end of a Clinton speech yesterday, a man in the audience yelled out, "pepe".
But let's first get back to Trump's statement about the President's birthplace.
After minutes of hyping his new hotel property [recall he did the same thing over his Scotland golf course a day after the BREXIT vote], he then delivered 30-odd seconds worth of remarks that Obama was born in the U.S., "period", as if reading prepared words given to a POW to say by his captors. After then saying let's make America great again and that he "finished" the (birthing) issue, he walked off the stage surrounded by his armada without fielding reporter's questions. This is despite the advance promise to the press pool that he would be delivering more than a few words on the birthing issue, allowing their questions to follow. The American voter was witnessing Trump dictating the terms of his appearance; dictating to the media what he would allow despite his initial overtures to them to the contrary on a subject for which he had taken a contrary view for some five years (Obama being born outside the United States, quadrupling down on it over and over and over and over again), and even dictating that only he could dictate the final outcome of where the president was born. Recall again that Trump has already barred certain news organizations and reporters from covering his events. And what made Trump's appearance all the more deplorable was that he used the presence of retired military personnel as an on-stage backdrop, a foil, for what he was about to say. Retired military as "props" for his own purpose could only be described as disgusting and sickening. Everyone, it seemed, got conned by Trump, not surprising since that is his modus operandi in life and in business.
With how Trump made his delivery, I thought I was witnessing a reincarnation of Moammar Gadhafi, maybe a Mussolini, or the 21st century version of Adolph Hitler. Frightening! Trump has now become a strongman, a dictator that lies without consequence and rules from a position of absolute power. After all, he is counting on the dumbing down of the American voter to get him into office. And as many pundits and reporters have already observed, what the electorate sees of Trump's conduct and behavior now, before the election, will be even worse after the election...if he is elected. There will be no pivoting. And to this elixir add his narcissistic personality disorder with a thin skin, as most recently put forth by Maureen Dowd in the context of discussing her new book (also) this past week on CNN, THE YEAR OF VOTING DANGEROUSLY.
As a strongman, Trump now once more advocates, or, at a minimum, suggests, to his gun-toting supporters, violence to HRC, and that believe, incorrectly so, the Second Amendment is the be and end all of their gun rights---despite a position never yet taken by the Supreme Court. At Friday's hotel PR stunt, Trump also accused HRC of wanting to take away gun rights, another blatant lie. Another outrageous lie was Trump touting that he "finished" the issue on Obama's birthplace, when Obama did that in 2011 upon producing a State of Hawaii-verified birth certificate.
So, what do American voters now have before them? A strongman and dictator that blocks out the media from questioning him why he suddenly reversed himself after years of saying the first Black president was not born in the United States. Racism at its ugliest. Then hours later, he suggests by inference, as he has in the past, the use of (gun) violence to take out his opponent. And all the while lying about who started the birthing controversy and who ended it. We also must not forget those White Supremacists that believe Trump is now their leader.
A dictator with the backing of White Supremacists who also controls the media while appearing to incite criminal violence against a candidate running to become president deserves nothing less but to now be hauled into FBI offices.
