From Barack Obama to Veronica Mars, just about everyone and their co-founder is raising money these days through crowdfunding.

But for every breakout campaign, there are thousands that fail to hit their goals.

After all, there's a science to this stuff, people. Just ask Slava Rubin, the founder and CEO of Indiegogo, one of the largest crowdfunding platforms in the world. During last week's Southland Summit in Nashville, we caught up with Rubin and got him to reveal the secrets to striking crowdfunding gold.
