Today, we're excited to announce that the National Trust for Historic Preservation is taking CityLove to the next level.

Since January, our urban infatuation has played out mostly here on our blog, where we have celebrated great American cities and the place-savers who call them home. But now, we're ready for our love to be an in-real-life kind of affair.

This June 14-20, we're packing our bags for a place that truly lives up to one of its many nicknames -- "The City That Loves You Back." That's right; We're Philadelphia-bound for an entire week of meet-ups, parties, and behind-the-scenes photo tours, all taking place inside some of the city's most iconic -- and of course, historic -- places.

We chose Philly because it's a city with opportunity. From the stately mansions of Fairmount Park to the long-abandoned industrial warehouses of Fishtown and Northern Liberties, it's a city steeped in history. Once the home of a young nation's capital, it blossomed into an industrial powerhouse known as the "Workshop of the World."

Today, after decades of population decline, Philadelphia is once again on the rise as a new generation discovers all the quirks and charms of one of America's oldest cities. Here is a place where it's possible to see both the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, the old and the new. And we love that.

If you live in Philly -- or plan to be there in mid June -- check out our full itinerary of events. Please note that registration must be completed by Sunday, June 8, at 12:00 p.m. EST, and we expect our limited number of tour spots to go quickly.

If you can't join us, you can always follow along here and on the Saving Places Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Also, as we think about where to go next for CityLove IRL, we welcome any and all suggestions and ideas. Where should we go? What places are you dying to explore?

Let us know! We would love to hear from you.
