More than recalling the plot, I have always remembered the feeling I had while reading A Wrinkle in Time: a sense of wonder, fascination, and warmth. All that came flooding back through me as I read it for the second time a few days ago.
Even in this modern day and age, some folks in communities across America are saying: "No. That Book ISN'T For You" and for reasons that have nothing to do with the community, the school, or the reader -- and everything to do with prejudice.
All that time living inside Ms. L'Engle's story has changed my work, and changed me, in ways I don't fully understand. My universe is bigger now, more layered, deeper-and yet, the far places are not so far away.
