What the 'funk' is going on? It's a fair question to ask in music these days, as funk appears to be making a mainstream comeback. There's Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" single which had a 14-week reign at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
I have to say, I've grown to love the 'burbs. Love, love them. I love my small-town community. I love the big box stores. I love walking my kids to school and letting them ride their bikes all over. So here is my latest parody, celebrating life in the 'burbs! Enjoy!
Keb' Mo': "The biggest difference on this one was our first recording of it. It was completely upside down, which I think is actually right side up. I started with the vocals. I recorded the vocals first, with nothing on it."
"I don't know what kid didn't listen to [Michael Jackson] at my age," says Bruno Mars. "You aspire to be as great as he is as an artist. I don't think any artist in pop, rock or hip-hop has ever done it any bigger than him ... He's the man."
Ron Weisner: "When you're involved in the music world that I've been involved with, I was in the record end of it first and then the management next, then the television live concert world, and each relates to each other in a different way."
