If you look around at recent events it might seem that the world is falling apart. However, humanity has dealt with tragedy and injustice forever. So now, thanks to the global village that social media has created, there is immediacy to the awareness in which our fears are broadcast and regurgitated back to us.
There are a lot of things kids who go to California colleges like to hang their hats on when they graduate, like going to the top-rated public school in the country ('sup Berkeley), or attending a university with infinity football titles (hi, USC), or a zillion other things that honestly don't matter even a little bit.
NASA deserves a lot of thanks. The space program is the reason we've put satellites in the sky, landed on the moon, and seen Armageddon. But in the constant quest to dominate the stars, the agency has also ended up creating tools and technologies with applications right here on Earth. In fact, you're probably using some of them right now...
If the TPP's enforcement mechanisms were as toothless as those of labor side agreements or the ILO Declaration there would be no need for fast track. If the labor side agreements or the ILO Declaration had enforcement mechanisms as vigorous as those of the TPP I daresay the vote on fast track would be lopsidedly against.
