Meditation is about gaining direct insight into the contradiction inside yourself and trying to resolve that contradiction within you. Once you gain that insight, if you decide something does not work for you, then you have to let it go. At that point you can use the term, empty your mind.
The truth is, we don't really take criticism well. Usually when someone gives us a critique, even if we know it to be true, we tend to meet that critique with anger or fear. We not only don't like hearing criticism; it has a profound effect on our psyche.
I now realize that even before my doctoral work, even before I came to consciousness of this, my research was, in fact, my therapy, for it had challenged and continually challenges me to change and to grow.
One wonders why all the PMSC trade association crack analysts and interns have not been publicizing his work. After all it is not every day that one finds factual data supporting, at least partially, their claims. Oh well, perhaps they're on a long coffee break or out for a run.
