To mitigate the damage and restore confidence, Sony Pictures executives need to develop a plan so this is unlikely to reoccur. While this is easier said than done, IT solutions are available to thwart hackers.
There should be a holistic discussion about race and diversity in Hollywood. I would welcome it, but leave aside character assassination and focus on the problem and how to solve it. Leave the hyperbole out of it. It does nothing to advance the cause of inclusion.
The idea of "regulating" the news media plays quite differently on the two sides of the Atlantic. In the U.S. it's unthinkable. But in Britain the notion that news media need grownup supervision is widely held and periodically attempted.
